Chapter 239: There's Nothing A Nap Can't Fix

*Shelby*

The sound of someone stirring near me had me jerking back to consciousness. Slowly, I opened my eyes to see Michael heading into the kitchen. Blinking a few times, I asked, “What’s going on?”

My husband paused, turning to look at me, a disappointed look on his face. “You fell asleep on the couch. I was hoping you could keep sleeping while I took care of the babies. Sorry I woke you up.”

“No, that’s okay,” I assured him as I stretched my arms and legs as far as I could, my body feeling stiff from the uncomfortable position I had been in for hours. "What time is it?" I mumbled, still half asleep.

"It's almost ten," Michael said. "You needed the rest. I could tell you were exhausted."

"Thanks," I said, sitting up and smiling at him.

Michael sat down next to me on the couch, placing his arm around my shoulders. "Feeling better now?"

I leaned my head on his shoulder and closed my eyes, feeling the tension in my body slowly melting away. "Yeah, a nap always helps."
