The sun dipped low, casting a warm glow over the resort's sprawling grounds as I leaned back in my chair, the worn leather creaking under my weight. Shelby flipped through a glossy brochure, her brow furrowed in concentration. The air between us was thick with a million different emotions and thoughts.

We'd been discussing how to bring in more guests, and Shelby had been stewing for at least thirty minutes. Something brilliant was about to come out of her mouth.

"Okay, hear me out," she started, tapping a perfectly manicured nail on the page. "Destination weddings. We're talking the whole package—ceremonies, receptions, bachelor and bachelorette parties. They pay an all-inclusive price, and we have the people here to handle everything else."

I straightened up, interest piqued. The adrenaline rush of a new venture already coursed through my veins.
