Chapter 21

The starry night above was better than any image imitation. There were lighter patches, clusters of faint and bold light, the constellations altered according to the time of year. These were the same stars that greeted the ancients, the same ones that would be there in millions of years. Even in the velvet dark there is the light of the stars, perhaps a promise that even when we yearn for the light of the sun there will be those stars to bring hope of the dawn.

'A hope," Hades breathes as he strokes his hand on her cheek. She was sleeping soundly after what they did. He guesses it tired her.

'You're now my hope," he said, and a smile was put on his lips.

The stars hung above them, as if strung in the air by invisible strings.

'Hades?" Lissana murmured and her one eye was open looking at him and Hades lower his head and now their forehead was just an inch of them.
