Rise, KERMES!!

The cultists had the advantage for the majority of the battle. In the skies, Kemeson was unrelenting in his assault against the Sorcerers, even turning one of them against their own. It was only a matter of when the Sorcerers would perish at his hands and not a question of if.

On the ground, the battle situation had not changed. The elite Apprentice Sorcerers were unable to overcome their opposition and were gradually losing. The cultists enjoyed a 'home advantage' and received boosts in demonic energy due to their subtle 'bond' to the demonic relic: the red altar. This allowed them to activate their demonic forms without restraint and attack incessantly like madmen not caring for their injuries which healed relatively quickly compared to the Sorcerers. This 'eye for an eye' tactic worked: the Apprentices began sustaining injuries and their combat capability dropped steadily.
