Qin Feng Says Sorry

Qin Feng saw me sitting on the sofa and I could see how his face showed a shocked expression for a tiny bit and then turned to normal.

I was doing fine by now, but I don't know why I am feeling a little nervous now that he came.

It's not like he can do something to me, or something awkward happened. Or maybe it did. Our previous interactions did not end up nicely.

He greeted everyone and took a seat near Grandpa Qin. I could feel his eyes on me though.

He knows why I am here right, otherwise he will spin his brain and would come up with a ridiculous reason of I am after this or that.

"Why don't you go and discuss how Bai wants the arrangements to be?" Grandpa Qin suggested.

I can't thank him enough for giving me a way out.

Qin Bai led me to her room.

I asked her how she would want the party, whether they are inviting everyone, or it will be just close relatives.

She asked me if she can do that, and I doubt her Grandfather will refuse her.

So I tell her, she can do anything she wants. After discussing it with her family of course.

Unlike how awkward I was earlier, I relaxed and finally talked like a normal person.

As soon as Qin Bai became comfortable around me she started talking non stop.

She became a completely different person than she was downstairs.

I doubt that if at this moment I was supposed to ask her a secret she would tell me too.

So, she isn't the quiet girl from earlier, but the one I am seeing right now.

"After Grandpa got to know about my relationship he insisted on meeting Lin Wen and his family. After confirming my feelings for him he thought it would be best if I get engaged to him right now." She sighed.

She is telling me about why they were getting engaged.

"I don't want Grandpa to think about his health like that but what can I do?" She sighs.

Since she is being so friendly, she will give some answers to my questions, right?

"I am quite flattered, you know that I received such a big project." I state.

It was not like I haven't done anything like this big before , but it's about their status.

"I can't digest that I would be doing this, because generally I have seen families like yours prefer to do everything by themselves. " I try to pry, whether I can understand what these people are thinking.

Such big families do everything privately. They don't want the intervention of another party at all.

"I can understand, actually there was one more reason Grandpa chose you. " Qin Bai said with a glint in her eyes.

"And What's that?" I ask.

"Do you want to hear the truth?" She asks excitedly.

What do you mean by that? Of course I would want to hear the truth. I would not have asked you otherwise. I roll my eyes inside my head.

"Yeah." I replied, trying my best to look calm.

"After everyone came to know about my relationship, Grandpa was curious what brother was doing at that hotel. He wasn't having any important deals."

She paused to take a sip of water and continued.

"Brother brushed off the topic, but we knew something was fishy, So Grandpa investigated and we came to know that you were with him."

She paused then looked at me "I can't believe that you fooled me too. I never thought you were there with my brother. "

What kind of memory does she have? She remembers seeing me.

Before I could come up with a reply she said " I can't blame you on that, I was too shocked to see my brother, I must have ignored you."

I heaved a sigh of relief when she was not looking.

"Actually I never thought they would get to know about my relationship. I thought my brother would be angry but he did not say anything. I was stressing for nothing."

I never knew someone could talk this much. I think Fu Jing will definitely like her company.

"Brother don't actually have dinner with everyone, and if it would have been to repay you he would have sent his assistant. You might have understood it by now right."

I understood what these people made out of the situation.

I want to shake my head at her. You got it all wrong.

What kind of stupid theory you guys used to conclude that he might like me.

You should have seen him then, he was throwing daggers through his eyes the whole time we were eating. I mean I was eating.

She thought it wasn't enough so she added "That's so cool right. You saved him, he fell in love with you."

This girl needs to stop. Where she is getting those dumb ideas anyways. She is getting way too far in her imagination.

I understood their motive now, and that is not going to happen no matter what they think.

She said she wanted to have the hall decorated with red roses everywhere before, so I brought it up.

"You can tell me what you want after giving it a thought, I will share a few designs with you first?" I say changing the topic.

I exchange numbers with her and share some pictures of the events I planned before. Some of them were engagements and some of them were proposals.

Most rich people try to show off by doing every little thing grandly in the public's eye.

Very few of them actually think that some ceremonies are important in your life.

I ate dinner with the Qin family.

I think Qin Feng had no choice left because he finally ate with me. I wanted to laugh so hard at that situation but somehow miraculously controlled myself.

I had to say the food was so delicious. It was one of the best meals of life.

I bid them goodbye and was about to go out when Grandpa Qin said "Why are you going alone, Xiao Feng will drop you."

"No, it's fine. I don't want to trouble you." It doesn't look like he will be fine with it at all. Can you please let me off.

"Since you already call me Grandpa then don't be so polite with me."

You are saying I am being polite? I want to say that your intentions are written all over your face.

I looked at Qin Feng hoping that he would say something to save the situation, instead he said "I'll go get the car."

The amount of shock I have received in this month is unimaginable.

I sat in the passenger seat and Qin Feng started the car.

The silence is stifling.

I wreck my brains to come up with something to say but end up saying "So you can actually drive too."

Why does it sound like I am mocking him in some way? I just tried to make a joke, and I am terrible at it.

I just wanted to lighten the environment.

He did not react to my statement and the atmosphere became more awkward. I want to get out of the car this very instant.

"I am Sorry." He said stiffly like he wasn't used to saying this word.

What? Did he just apologize? For What?

I mean for real? I can't believe my ears. I didn't misheard right?

"What?" I ask in disbelief.

My brain shut down at his apology. No problem, it has been shutting down frequently nowadays.

I wasn't expecting an apology from him at all. Not even in my dreams. And he sounds like he means it.

"I didn't know you had hearing problems, but I don't like repeating myself." He said sarcastically.

This statement should have offended me like you don't have to be so arrogant even while apologizing but somehow it didn't.

It was hard for him to say that, and I can tell.

By saying it like that he was just trying to cover up his embarrassment.

He isn't someone who would say sorry on a regular basis. I have an urge to ask him when was the last time he did that.

"I don't have any hearing problems, it just feels unbelievable coming from you." I say.

"For what are you apologizing though?" I ask, knowing the reason completely.

"For misunderstanding you." He says. I felt like he said that through gritted teeth.

I want to say isn't it too late for that, but I say "It's fine."

Can't he have a conversation like normal people. It looks to me like he never talks, because every word he speaks feels forced, like he isn't used to it.

Anyway I am not comprehending that at all. I don't have anything to do with him. Not now, nor in the future.

I know whatever his family thinks is not the case at all. They will realize it sooner or later.

I need to get done with his sister's engagement and we are not seeing each other ever.
