Chapter 5

James was sitting in the carriage along with Selena who had her eyes closed. With her blond hair and red satin dress she did look beautiful. He had come to know that the swordsman was Claryn and the shield was Meryn who were captains of attack and defence respectively. A shield was a person only possessing shield, always protecting comrades and dignitaries. They both were really skilled warriors and were outside riding on the horses.

Selena woke up from the nap. She smiled cheerfully and looked at James.

"Talking with you does take its toll."

"Well lady, I am a hard person."

"So why do you intend on becoming a wizard."

"Well, I wanted to but since you said it is not possible."

"We Rookwoods do not have power to sponsor a male wizard, the headmistress cannot be forced as such. In front of the Great Gem of constitution does assign you to your ties but the headmistress can make certain you're are not a wizard. In the academy you're supposed to pay each and every teacher yourself as per your subject. If you want you can finish graduation after one hour of entering the academy. You just need to take the exam. If you want you can do self-study but you have to take exams once every two years and hence can be extended up to ten years. Don't worry, Amelia is in the academy, she will support you."

"In which level is she."

"She is in second tier, third level of study."

"So she is older than me."

"Well yeah, but she did skip classes, so she is just one year ahead of you."

They were silent for a few minutes until they reached inside a really big mansion's boundary. There was an arrow of soldiers and others in line along with the maids. There was a beautiful woman of seventeen with white hair and white eyes in black dress waiting in the centre.

"Selena, why is your house much bigger than other houses of Block B."

"Because we are a military family and almost every lady in the family is a general. We may live in block B but we are the lord protector of Block B. We are royalty James."

James got out and gave his hand to Selena as a matter of etiquettes. Lady Rookwood accepted the hand gracefully and descended down the carriage onto the ground. The soldiers all saluted by bringing their hands to their chest while all others bowed except the woman in the middle. She came forward and said to Selena,

"Hello mother, nice to meet you."

"Hello daughter."

"Did it happen?"

"Yes daughter." Her face beamed with happiness. She looked at James and said

"Nice to meet you Ser James."

"Pleasure is mine Lady Amelia."

Selena then proceeded with Amelia and James at her tail and walked into her house. They went to the tea toom and sat down one by one.

Selena said, "Since we are military oriented, even though we count as royalty our powers are considered second to the powers of magic. But still we have a lot of books on martial arts and military strategies. You can practise with your other comrades or with Amelia or even myself. You will be given your own room. You will be called back from the academy for missions and events."

"Well it is nice Selena."

"You can call me Amelia."

"Okay Amelia, but why are showing me such respect."

"You are going to be my future husband and also you are the anointed blade of the sacred Rookwood."

"I have not promised anything."

"Yes darling, but your eyes and heart says different."

"Amelia, he isn't good with interactions as he is said to not have stepped out once in four years."

"That is sad mother but his dress and style seem to be refined. And he does seem to have hay blue hair."

"I made my own dress." James said. What he did not say was that hair reflected the magic affiliated with the person unlike dyes used by some royalty. When power surged the hair turns black or white.

"How much many would you like per month James?"

"I am not good at money."

"Well how about fifty gold coins per month. Amelia is with you hence you don't need to worry."

"Okay Selena."

Everyone drank their tea quietly as etiquettes demanded of them.

"James, let me take you to your room."

James was taken to a room at a far east side with well furnished windows. He could see thee borders of the capital there. The walls were lined with books and weapons and there was a huge practise area at the centre. He now knew his martial arts skills are going to increase tremendously.

"So, James, I am going to leave you and Amelia alone."

This had been the moment James had dreaded for. Amelia closed the door and sat on the bed looking at James expectantly. James went and sat next to Amelia looking her in the eye, facing sideways.

"Why are you so happy Amelia, to be married to someone whom you have never seen."

"For beginners you are handsome and strong. You held yourself on and have proper etiquettes. Mainly because we haven't had an anointed blade in two hundred years and you qualified. A heir and an anointed blade is destined to win the war."

"Why did you exactly come for me."

"My powers are priestly. Healing and sword art. The Goddess showed me your face and place and headed to mother soon. She did use her network and when she found out you were a Rookwood by blood."

"It is nice to be wanted by a beautiful lady like you." James said with a smile.

Amelia came forward for a kiss. James wasn't sure what to do but he thought of a good way to avoid any further complications. He took her hand and kissed it.

"Amelia, you have to give me some time to adjust."

"James, I want to be married to you. I do love you James. We could be in the school. Whichever tier you are we could be together. We could train together."

"Yes, we can." Then he did something he had not dreamt of, he rose her chin with his fingers and kissed her on the lips.

"I might love you Amelia."
