James knew that he did not like Amelia. It was not due to the fact that she wanted to kill him. He never knew that! James looked into the bloodlust eyes of Amelia. He also saw that none of the others among his personal battalion had decided to help him. Amelia smiled and sat on the small chair that had been brought for her.

Amelia: Do you know how long I have been planning this? The moment my mother mentioned of marrying me to a man I had planned this. Marry you and then kill you. I will be able to claim matronship as such. There was going to be no problems at all. Erwin challenged you that day on my orders. As I suspected he got close to you and you made him the Lieutenant. The soldiers behind him are his soldiers. He can take care of them himself and need not bow to anyone but me. The moment I heard of your lordship I was angry. But I knew killing you would give me more power as your lordship will be given to me.

James: As much as I know you do not possess much power.

Amelia: The ivory you gave was a powerful piece to channel energy. Thanks to you I will kill you with this myself.

A heavy cut appeared at the guts of James. Blood began to flow. Obviously. Dragon strong skin was permeable to magic. His magic protections had been released the time he had released the seal.

Amelia: It is so wonderful seeing you die. The times are really golden. The queen understood my plan and even offered the weapon to kill you. I had helped the three scholars in order to make you believe in me. Those fools thought that I had your good in my mind. The Queen coated the Ivory with the liquid the flew from her crown. I am one of the most powerful beings in the Queendom. I will kill you now and become a trusted vassal of the queen. She will use her powers and remove my mother from her position. And now you die.

Blood began to drip from his torso. He fell down. Lack of blood was one of the ways of dying. As his body had changed into a higher form of being, the blood was not possible to be replenishable by magical means. He had the idea how to do it.

Amelia: I am leaving James. Happy dying.

James called onto Agni with all his sorrow and might. There was a rush of flames from the sky as lot of elementals came to where he was and attacked everyone present. Amelia tried to stop them but she did not know the necessary magic methods necessary to kill a fire elemental and kept on shooting ice. James smiled and laughed. Agni had rushed onto him and was trying to him cover his wounds. James had his wounds covered and his skin intact and the powers he had acquired were intact too. James sensed that his mana was intact and he would be able to replenish his form if he wanted to.

James looked to see that whom he had considered his formal friends had died. Amelia's ivory hairpin lay on the ground destroyed and she was bound, so as to make sure he was able to pass the judgement.

James: Hold her a little longer. I need to replenish my strength and If I am not wrong, I need to increase it now. The best method is available.

All the others nodded and gave him some space. He was not able to stand erect due to pain but he numbed himself and stood straight. He saw the blood that lay before him and levitated it to form a big drop of blood the size of his head. James used to blood to draw a magic circle and began chanting.

James: Oh, great lord Erebus of the demon kind, appear before me forever.

Red smoke came from the circle until there stood a demon as big as an elephant. He looked down upon James and laughed.

Erebus: You have summoned me here with your blood. Know that if anything happens to me here, I will die rather than returning to where I came from.

James: Just as I wanted.

Erebus: As for the contract, if you defeat me in physical prowess, I will do so as you say.

James: It is kind of sad that I had to forcibly call upon a strength-oriented demon. There are times when the world is wonderful. After you I will be going to challenge a primordial, for better or the worse.

Erebus: Do you intend to leave me here so that I will cause mayhem

James: I intend to eat you.

James snapped his fingers and the demon before him was torn to pieces.

James: Just so you know, I am much powerful than you physically.

James went over and started eating the flesh of the dead demon. He retched in between but was able to hold it up. Agni seeing the condition came forward and said to him.

Agni: Let us prepare the meat my lord.

James raised his hands as to tell them to stay away. He had not eaten completely but he was able to feel when his body had been completely replenished. James stood from there and wiped his mouth clean. He then burned the carcass before him. James turned back and saw the look of the others.

Amelia: You are a monster James. I should not have had you trained. I wi…

James called forth his dagger which he had never used ever since he had created it. He cut her neck in an instant. The others holding her up had released her as her body slumped back.

James: Do you despise me now?

Clark: It is not that. We do not feel anything for the demon. We just do not know why you ate him.

James: A demon that was forever dead. His body is mainly made of flesh but it has higher magical content. The only way to acquire that for anyone besides a demon is to eat him. There is no way he would have been able to make me stronger otherwise. It had to be done for my battle with the primordial.

Agni: Is it necessary for such a thing? We can leave this world. Think about our fate. We will be banished back to our realm and will not have much freedom.

James: Believe me my friends. It has to be done. I had thought of defeating her with strategy but she is going to mobilize her whole army. The only way to fight back is with raw strength. I need it.

Agni: Let's return to home for now.

James: Let's return.

It had been three das since the previous time. The power within him had increased further and he knew he had to fight the war, because he wanted to. If he ran away, he would never be able to live with himself. James looked at the throne he had sat. On his right side's throne had sat Agni, Anshul and Azar had sat on his right while Clark, Blaze and Egan had sat in the left. They were his council. They looked at him expectantly.

James: I am doing it.

Agni: Keep this ring then. It will help you to return fast if there arises a terrible power unopposable. It had not helped my previous master but I hope it won't be needed.

James accepted the ring and wore it. He started the navigation and the abyss. It was astral travel as going there himself would have meant death. No he wanted to do it the proper way. He returned to his body and opened his eyes.

Azar: Is it over?

James: I am going again.

Everyone nodded. James spoked the long series of spells he had created to enter the abyss. There appeared a portal. The other people there rose to stop him but he jumped into the darkness and closed the portal. James looked around. It was dark everywhere. He felt a sudden warmth in his heart that he had never felt before. He looked around and was able to see in the darkness. He was feeling even more powerful.

James stood astounded as countless beings came into being and died within the second. He was not able to understand why this happened but he did somehow that they were in fact dead and would never return. James began searching for the primordial and did not see one. He had a funny idea of calling aloud for the primordial. He laughed heartily at his own idea for the first time. James decided to do so as he had no other idea.

James: Hey primordial of darkness. I have come to meet you.

There appeared a huge darkness in front of him that was darker than the darkness he had around him. It took the form of a dragon and began attacking him. He just willed and the dragon was arrested. He knew this was nothing but a low powered being and he could easily kill it with a thought. Its power level might be declared as that of a foot soldier in arrangement, just like Agni was a Lordess. Positions did matter. The dragon tried to break through the hold and James was brought back into reality. He somehow had feelings for this dark being and did not want to kill him. He just released the dragon and forced it really farther away.

Primordial: Did you have to throw him away that far?

James looked behind to see nothing but densest darkness of all. He did not know how far it had existed. He had a really big compulsion to bend to his knees but he controlled himself.

Primordial: Good thing James Cynnity. It seems like you not only have good affinity to magic but a good control over your mind as well.

James: May I know you name and also whether you are the only primordial in this existence.

Nathaniel: My name is Nathaniel and I am the only primordial in this abyss. I am the lord of the abyss.

James: I have come to make you bow to me. Then I will be the new lord of darkness.

Nathaniel: Lord is nothing but a title. There is a lordess among your side but she is not even half as strong as that dragon you had just defeated, and he termed a trainee here.

James: What is it with the beings being born and dying at the same time.

Nathaniel: That is their life span unless we get a King. If you are able to defeat me you will be the King of this abyss. You will still be called as known as the Dark Lord of Cynnity.

James: I should not have made such a name on a whim.

Nathaniel: You seem oddly calm for a human.

James: If I die, I die. If anything happens to me, that is it.

Nathaniel: I know that you had seen me when I tried to reach out to you.

James: Why was that?

Nathaniel: Apart from the fact that you were a born prodigy in magic and also had affinity to almost all the elements, you had the aptitude to be a King. But promise me one thing. If you get the power of the King of the abyss, you will only be limited by imagination, otherwise you will be able to do many things. Hence after you win this war, even though it might take some time to get powerful, you need not do anything about that, you will go to earth.

James: What is this place and why should I do so?

Nathaniel turned into a boy nearly of the age of James wearing a beautiful black suit. His hair and eyes were black but his skin was fair white. But the darkness of the primordial still held behind him.

Nathaniel: This is what I call myself an avatar. It will be easier to speak this way. Your aptitude to be a King is really high. I had once managed to look into the twenty first century according to the current timeline of earth. The information flow was colossal and if you are able to learn their ideas of science and philosophy and maybe watch a few of their movies like avengers, I am pretty sure your horizons of your mind will widen. It will be easier to even do magic. Make sure you learn software programming too.

James: The idea is vague. But is this all I have to do in order to have you as my vassal.

Nathaniel: I would like to ask few of the aptitude questions.

James: Are not the primordials supposed to test your strength.

Nathaniel grinned and said.

Nathaniel: Nobody, literally nobody can reach the strength of the primordials, unless you already have conquered a primordial.

James: Fine. Ask your questions.

Nathaniel: Remember. If you lose you die.

The ring given to him by Agni was broken into fragments. James looked at the impeding darkness and nodded.

Nathaniel: What is two times two?

James: Four.

Nathaniel: Interesting. What is log ten to the base ten?

James: What the hell is log?

Nathaniel: A function in the world of maths. I am giving you that as a free one. Tell me. Do you find me attractive sexually?

James: You are a man. So, no.

Nathaniel: Seems like I was wrong about you. So you are not gay. Maybe I should turn into a women form.

James: I don't want to see a female version of you.

Nathaniel: Fine. I shall remain in the shape of a boy forever as long as I am with you. Tell me this, what will happen if Thanos snapped his finger?

James: I don't know.

Nathaniel: Who is you know who?

James: I am really getting annoyed.

Nathaniel: True. If you do not know of him, that proves my point. You will have to go to earth.

James: Fine. I promise I will go to earth for training.

Nathaniel: It is a beautiful place. Tell me who will you save if you have one child who had the power to be the dark lord and the other had the aptitude to be the dark lord.

James: I will save both of them. I am a dark lord after all.

Nathaniel: True. The ideas from earth are a wonderful thing. You should read Dimensioner codex. It is an interesting book. Tell me what would you do if you met a god.

James: Walk by and do what I had come to do/

Nathaniel: What if the King of the new world you had decided to settle come to call you a devil and claims that you have to be killed?

James: I will release a devil onto his house and laugh out loud sinisterly.

Nathaniel: Do you practised your sinister laugh very often.

James: I don't need to. I am a natural in it.

Nathaniel: Really.

Nathaniel had made a face. James made another face and even made his body in a comical position. He was enjoying the company of Nathaniel so much.

James: Really!

Nathaniel: If you had the power to destroy a whole kingdom with a snap of your finger, and the kingdom had come with an army, what will you do?

James: I will arrange another army little more powerful than theirs and let them win in the wars. My soldiers would not have died therefore it would not have been a problem. I will then kill every one of them.

Nathaniel: Good answer. Remember to do the same with the queen you are going to face.

James: I am going to face the queen. I am obviously going to toy around with her until she nearly wins and make the action of having won miraculously. I can't have the people of Fenrir afraid of me. The fun will be gone.

Nathaniel: Truly spoken like a dark lord and the King of Abyss. If you win that is. Tell me how you will kill somebody who had opposed you.

James: If alone I will kill him instantly. If not, I will make sure to make an example out of him.

Nathaniel: Who would you kill first. A hero or another dark lord.

James: The other dark lord.

Nathaniel: How to train your dragon? How to be a pirate?

James: Are you doing it again?

Nathaniel: True. Tell me how to make sure a person who is not afraid of death of his or others having no weakness now to you.

James: Torture.

Nathaniel: Nearly right. The answer is to kill him and resurrect him over and over again. Or send him over to a mental state of your control where you are the only one, he is allowed to remember and where hundred years in that world is a second in the real one. Let him stay like that for five seconds. He will be begging to serve you, begging to see you at least once.

James: You do have fine ideas.

Nathaniel: True. I only give you half marks.

James: How much should I score to win?

Nathaniel: The score is to decide whether or not to make sure to ask you the last question. Tell me the biggest reason of the deaths of the Dark lords.

James: Light Lords.

Nathaniel: Your imagination is good but the answer is suicide. They become really powerful that they get bored and then commit suicide.

James: Is that why you are interested in seeing me?

Nathaniel: Kind of id. Now do you get why the lower level beings were dead as soon as they were born. It is because they did not have a king. They did not have a purpose. It was why that dragon was really weak too. We all need a mind and consciousness to survive/

James: One might argue against that.

Nathaniel: One might! Tell me the facts. If you had to be imposing by appearance, what might you have worn?

James: Nothing.

Nathaniel grinned slightly. The interview was going on so well. He created a table out of darkness and two chairs. He split into three persons and each had a file.

Nathaniel: I shall be taking your interview Mr. Cynnity. Please be seated.

The middle one had spoken. James smiled slightly and sat on the chair.

Nathaniel: Your portfolio seems fine and so does your degrees. If you had to learn something new what would that be?

James: I don't get many words but I think the answer id copter prograaamuing.

Nathaniel: It's computer programming. It was a nice choice. Do you ever have a plan to get married?

James: Never.

Nathaniel: If you had to marry a girl, what kind of girl would that be?

James: Non existent type. It should never exist forever.

Nathaniel: Good! Since you may get accepted by me and will become an immortal, when is your plan to commit suicide.

James: Never.

Nathaniel: I like your optimism. What would you do if I said this was nothing but a joke?

James: I will try to escape from here and return later powerful enough to hurt you.

Nathaniel: That's the spirit! What is sweeter than honey and is stronger than a lion?

James: Honeydings from the queen's feast and literally any higher level being, like a dragon.

Nathaniel: It will take a longer time to understand that question. Time is running out. Would you kill a friend if it meant you receiving more power?

James: Never. But I am ready to kill an innocent bystander.

Nathaniel: You are evil! Final question. Why should I serve you?

James suddenly felt a tickling sensation on his finger and James was remined of the Dark lord's ring he had. He looked at it and felt himself elevate.

James: Because I want it to be so.

Nathaniel: You pass with perfect score! Congratulation.

James: What about the half marks and the null marks?

Nathaniel: I gave you grace marks.

James: Why?

Nathaniel: Because I wanted to.

Nathaniel felt to his knees in front of James. He suddenly had the feeling that the atmosphere around him was also bowing to him.

Nathaniel: I Nathaniel, the primordial of this abyss, ruler of darkness accept James Cynnity as my master and ruler and I being the sole lord of this abyss, name him the King of this abyss. I pledge my fidelity and loyalty to him.

James: I accept this.

Power rushed into James. The power of the King flew through his veins. He was not able to suffer the pain and he collapsed onto the ground.

James opened his eyes to see his people tied with rope. He looked closer to see they were made of darkness and he willed it to not exist. The others stood and approached him when another rope of darkness bound them all together. Nathaniel walked by the throne room and came to him and bowed to him.

Nathaniel: Hail King James Cynnity, King of the abyss.

James: Hello Nathaniel. These are my friends.

Nathaniel released them and they began complaining. Agni raised his hands and others stopped talking.

Agni: We knew he was on our side; hence we did not call for reinforcements.

James: Good thing. Have a seat. This is the primordial Nathaniel.

Nathaniel: They know.

James: What day is it?

Clark: Three days had passed.

Nathaniel: Speaking of which you have the full power of the King.

James raised his eyebrows listening to the ominous flow in logic.

Nathaniel: You were not my king then so I had lied. It just means that instead of actually having to fight toe to toe with self-proclaimed queen you will have to act to be of her level.

Agni: Our lord does not stoop to such a level.

James: True. But the war will be fought.
