[Chapter 42 - Per Angusta Ad Augusta : Through Difficulties To Honors Pt.4]

It felt as though the air had been sucked from my lungs, reminiscent of being winded in from a strike in combat. Yet this time it had happened without anyone moving at all. Rather, my instigator stood silent and still before me, awaiting my response.

In response I simply nodded and moved aside allowing for her to enter at which I closed the door and led the way into the large study. Since it was meant for lounging the seating is a bit on the informal side, though it's the only well lit and private room I can think of. 

After closing the door I took a seat in the chair across from hers, a small wooden coffee table between us. The air was still and silent with the exception of an occasional crack from the wood burning in the fireplace. 

After a moment of this she began the conversation "I assume you know what this is regarding?" her voice was dull, lifeless and direct as usual.
