Below the cliff, a vast expanse of sand dunes lay, with the hot sun beating down on the rolling hills of sand and creating a shimmering haze that distorted the view.

"I'm trying to find Aidan," I squinted, scanning the endless fine sand. Aubin interrupted, "We need to keep moving."

"No, we have to find Aidan first! He's there. Aid! Where are you? Aid!!!" I frantically called out, screaming at the top of my lungs.

"Tesla..." Aubin exhaled, trying to stop me. I knew what he was going to say so I had to cut him by increasing my voice volume. If I couldn't hear him, I wouldn't have to do what he asked.

"Aidan might be over there! Aid!! I know you're there. But I can't see you." I became more desperate, crawling forward until my upper body hung over the cliff's edge.

Aubin pulled me, glaring at me, but I wasn't some weak maiden. That kind of threat won't work on me. Even if he decided to leave me here, I wouldn't protest, as long as he let me save Aidan first.
