Chapter 38

A towering figure, standing at least six feet tall, stands before me with his back turned. His sheer size is impressive, evident in his muscular arms that appear capable of effortlessly overpowering two grown men.

His neatly cut brown hair ends just above the collar of his jacket, a jacket that triggers a sense of familiarity within me. Where have I seen it before?

Unexpectedly, the boy turns around, revealing a sophisticated gas mask adorning his face. His pronounced brow ridges lend a deep intensity to his small eyes, though the captivating shade of amber around his pupils remains visible.

Suddenly, the boy removes his jacket, followed by his shirt. Alarmed, I instinctively take several steps back, attempting to create distance. However, he continues to advance towards me.

There's something peculiar in his gaze. Why is he looking at me like that?

"Stop!" I command, but he continues to advance until my back is firmly against the wall. "Aidan."
