CHAPTER 10 You Are a Fighter

  Emma’s POV

"You should go to her," I whisper quietly, secretly hoping that Ethan chooses to stay with me.

Ethan watches as Emily disappears around the corner of the hallway and looks back at me. "I shouldn't," he says with a somber look on his face.

"It is okay," I tell him. "She needs you right now."

Once again Ethan looks over where Emily disappeared and lets out a difficult sigh. "I will deal with her later."

My heart leaps in my chest when I realize that he is choosing me. My face flushes several shades of red and cannot help but smile at Ethan.

"What did you come to the office for," Ethan asks hesitantly.

"Oh," I shutter at the memory of hearing the conversation behind the closed door. "I need to go home."

Looking at me with his eyebrows knotted together in confusion, Ethan takes my hand in his and whispers, "But you are home."
