Being home was the best. Especially when you could take off your magical ring that was suppressing your healing abilities and heal at your leisure. Now, two days later, most of my bruising and cuts were gone, leaving me to deal with the internal damage or as the humans liked to call them — my feelings.
I spent my time resting, even though I no longer needed it, and watching TV shows I didn’t know the name of or staring at cartoons that were so stupid, I wanted to turn the TV off. Spending time with Elijah was great until I found him staring at my bruises with fear and concern.
And Chris. He was giving me the silent treatment ever since I dropped in his arms that night, telling him I didn’t want to talk about it. He had checked all of my wounds, making sure they were tended to, then went back to the room, slamming the door.
