chapter 6 :- Research?

DIANA POV

I saw many people rushing here and there from the car, some people were in military uniform and some in white coats.

Soon the car I was in stopped in front of the tall buildings which were surrounded by trees and there was no sign of normal neighbours.

Both Sir Ray and Sir Adrian I suppose were their names which I heard when they were calling each other , quickly got out of the call.

I also quickly got away as I followed behind Sir Ray, cause I felt being by his side was much safer and behind me Sir Adrian, who had a clam and poker face all along, was walking behind us.

We entered the tall buildings as everyone greeted the two people beside me and walked away quickly, they looked very busy.

The area here looked like a kinda mixture of a research centre and military office.

I had to quicken my pace to follow both of them, they have very long legs so of course they would walk fast. Man, I wish I was tall.

Following them was already hard enough, when I got in more trouble as I was pushed around by people around me , be it men or women, all of them were taller than me . I wonder when my growth spurt will hit me.

Since this much was not enough trouble for me , one tall man literally walked past me by hitting my shoulder. I was going to fall but... but Sir Adrian, thankfully he caught me by his single arms before standing me up properly.

Sir Ray looked at me and smirked. Smirked?! Did he just mock me for being small? I just didn't hit my growth spurt yet ,ok?!

After that they slowed their pace which touched me a little bit. I wish my uncle's had ever been a little bit like this . They always walked so fast whenever I went outside with them , I always had to run or jog to match up with them.

After a while I was led inside a room and I am sure it's a research room . Sir Ray went toward one of the researchers and he talked to him about something.

Behind me I saw two men and women walking past me as I smell hit my nose. "mggh!!?" I quickly covered my nose as both Sir Ray , Sir Adrian and the researchers looked at me .

I looked at them back , "What?? Why are you all staring at me?" I backed away but was blocked by Sir Adrian.

Sir... No wait I will just say Ray , he walks toward me .

"Did you smell something just now?" He asked, looking all serious, as he looked straight in my eyes. I was a little scared because it felt really strange to smell something strange and even my body reacted to it strangely, it was like my body was getting weird.

"Ugh yeah I did." I admitted, whatever this disease is , I must cure it and I think they can help.

Ray looked at Sir Adrian and at me,"hmm , just as I thought. Hey, what's your name ? You didn't tell us ."

"Well you didn't say so... Anyways my name's Diana ."

"Diana huh...." He got silent for a minute, thinking about something,as he chimed again "ok Diana , can you help us with something ? You are smelling and feeling some strange sensations right, so if you cooperate with us for a while we will give you the answer to your situation. So what do you say?"

He looked at me smiling with sparkles in his eyes.

'They won't do anything weird to me right?! I mean this place looks very familiar like in those movies I have seen where they do dangerous experiments on humans or animals. What if they tie me up and generated cat or dog ears on me . But he said he will tell me about my situation, like why I am smelling this weird yet different smells around other people around me. Why is my body reacting to some people in a weird way. It scares me if I am suffering from something and if something strange is happening to me like those monsters I saw emerging from the sky. If my mom knew about this , that I followed some strangers and did something weird I don't know what type of earthquake I'll handles.... Let's keep this a secret for four-five years before I tell her then.'

After some more thoughts , I again made eye contact with them ," You won't do dangerous experiments on me right? Let me tell you. I hate drugs, injections and high power medicine."

Ray laughed, " Haha Diana dear, nothing like this will happen, this office is a public government office , which is checked monthly by the government military head himself. Don't worry he will just stick some wires and machine on you and nothing that can pierce your body for now though, so relax. "

"Hmm.." I thought for more while.

Ray chimed again , "Also Adrian is also taking a part in this so don't worry."

"Oh ok then, I'll participate." With sir Adrian I feel at ease .

Soon we entered a transparent glass wall room along with me and sir Adrian. There were those two men and women who passed by me earlier, wearing gowns similar to hospital ones. I smelled that weird smell and sensations again.

Covering my nose I sat on the chair side by side with everyone in one distance. I had rolled up my sleeves of shirt and pants since I am not wearing that gown.

Soon some people in white coats came in , and didn't know if they're doctors or scientists.

They started acting some weird wire attached to some machine to my legs, arms and head . They did the same with everyone, soon the machine started. The colour lights of the loading cover up the room.

I sat there quietly, but my heart wasn't quiet at all. I didn't feel any pain but I could feel 1% of sensation from that machine in my body where the wires were attached.

Soon the light along with that machine stopped, I saw the faces of the people through the glass wall. Their faces were quite complicated, thinking about something. They were sure but still observing.

Of course they didn't say the result at all and decided to do more tests.

Those people came back again with a tray , I looked up and quickly stood up , the wiring about me stretching and dangling.

"Wait..! You said there will be no injection, what's this ??!" I said in a loud voice as I started backing up while pulling out the wire.

Two women stood behind me , they were much taller than me , as I sat me back on my seat and stuck the wires on me again.

"Hey ! Let go , I am not doing that ."

I looked up at Ray, as he gave me a silly smile. I was pretty angry but then what he said made me more annoyed.

" I said no injection for now dear , I didn't say anything you won't say any later. Besides, why are you refusing, are you scared of injection."

He smirked.

" What ?! I am not scared , you didn't give me a full explanation of this , that's why I said that. "

"Oh really..." He narrowed his eyes , I looked away.

"Good then , let's continue."

He ordered as those people started drawing blood from our hand . I clenched my jaw and bit the back of my hand, almost making it blood and leaving a dark mark.

This person took so much of my blood and also in a very slow way.

I don't like the pain I get from others , be it a thing or living, I'd rather hurt myself than let others do that.

After the drawing of the blood was completed, they let me pull out the wires and tidy our clothes. As they took the blood sample in the research room.

I got out of the room and approached Ray .

" So what did that machine say , am I fine or not ?"

I hurriedly asked him .

He didn't say anything as he looked at a medicine coated cotton from one assistant and took my hand , applying it on the place where I bit it.

" Self harming is not good, kid , be it small or not." He said calmly.

" Uhh ... Yeah..." I said slowly, but what can I do? This is what I have been doing since I was a little kid.

He put away the cotton, " ok so the results are out , come follow me ."
