Sunday is Actually the First Day of the Week

Monday's are a drag but I am glad we got a Monday 'cause I would hate for Monday feels to be Tuesday feels. That would suck.

Beep. Beep. Beep. Be--

Fuck.

Okay just think about adjusting your eyesight so that you can see better.

Picking up the phone, I glanced at the time. The screen read School Alarm in red. First day of classes.

Monday and Wednesday meant Chemistry and CHEM LAB.

Tuesday is Human Anatomy and Physiology.

Thursday is Human Anatomy and Physiology LAB.

Friday is "fuck classes I need a mental break from y'all humans".

Grappling my way out of bed, the days of wanting to dress to impress are over. Washing my face and brushing my teeth is enough. Slipping on a sweat suit set and a pair of Black AirForces, I looked in the mirror to search for any giveaways that would prove that I had just rolled out of bed. With a nod of satisfaction, I left my apartment.

OMG!

I knew I should have gone searching for my classes yesterday. This was so dumb of me. Currently, I was looking for the Chemistry building and I ended up being on the opposite side of campus.

7:45 am is what my watch reads. I could make it but having to be safe in the process could prove to be difficult.

God let me make it! Rushing down the sidewalks of First Floridian University, also known as FFU and the best HBCU in the south. Black population 99.9%. Nothing but flavor and zest. Crossing the street while the light was still green, I made sure the road was clear before making my way to the other side.

10 more minutes before I am late. Pushing my legs even harder, I couldn't bring myself to run. The anxiety and embarrassment I'd feel if I had to run. I could hear their mental jokes.

"Look at that nerd go. Slow down they still gonna start without you."

I am a nerd but I'd rather save myself the teasing. Good thing, I was close. I could run. It would be faster...

I threw open the building door and face smacked into a firm, good smelling chest. I seem to be the only one affected by the bump because I was the only one jostled and on my ass.

"Oh shit, my bad. You okay? Here lemme help you up."

"Um, nah it's okay. Sorry for bumping into you. I wasn't paying attention to where I was going." I quickly stood up, brushing away imaginary dust from the back of my pants.

"No worries. I'll accept your apology if you allow me to take you out on-"

"Y'know. Hold that thought. I am going to be late for class."

Not waiting for a reply, I made my way around him and to CHEM. Entering the classroom, most of the seats were taken except for a few in the front. Thank God.

Ladies and gentlemen, that's what you call priorities, baby.
