The Light at the end of the Tunnel

Art and I were lying up under a palm tree. It was extra hot today, and I opted for a cami and shorts. It was drawing closer to spring, indicating that summer was right around the corner, and so was graduation. I still hadn't told my family or Arthur her game plan, and I wasn't afraid of Art's reaction because I knew he would be okay with anything I did with my life. I sighed deeply and leaned more into my boyfriend's embrace.

"What's on your mind?"

"School and life. My future."

"Wanna elaborate?"

"Well, I was so sure about my future to the point where everything was scary. I knew what I wanted to be since elementary school. But ever since my grandma died, my mind has been in a whirlwind. I felt so behind on everything, and as of recently, I dropped out of the race to nursing school."
