THE SECRET

SAMANTHA'S POV

"Stop claiming yourself as a bad girl, 'cause you just look like angry bird." I said calmly to Haisley with annoyance while slightly smiling at her after I stepped on his foot that would have tripped over me, luckily my eyes were clear.

She immediately rolled her eyes and withdrew his foot from my step to wipe it and stood in front of me angrily.

She was about to speak but I immediately cut her off so she couldn't speak, "You are not a savage, sweetie, you're just manner less, sitdown." I said in a sarcastic tone and lightly patted her shoulder which made her even more angry.

"Mr., tell the forbidden love story," Xyreen said to our tour guide while seizing the scene, her eagerness can be heard here. Maybe it's a reason to break the tension between Haisley and I. He smiled at her in response.

"You have a day with me too," Haisley whispered annoyed.

"I'll wait for that day you're talking about," I replied with a smile and hit her on the shoulder causing her to completely return to her sitting position.

"Where do I start?" Our tour guide asked with a smile while standing in the middle of the bus.

"Hmm... how did Eli fall in love with Camilla." Xaji, who was next to Lucas, suggested with a smile. Since these demons are in love, yuck.

"Doña Felicidad used to invite people from the town to sing at the festival, they don't have to pay because for those who are poor, it's enough to invite them to such things inside the hacienda, it's an honor for them." Opening story of Mr. tour guide, even he's smiling there is a hint of sadness as if he was there and witnessed everything.

"Camilla was one of those who was invited there, I can't say if she was lucky. Lucky or unlucky. Because that was the reason for her ordeal in life." It continues but the tone of his voice seems to be changing. Is he angry? Annoyed?

My chest is getting heavy with the story I'm hearing, something tells me not to listen to it, but there's also a part of me that says I should know it.

What should I do? Do I listen more or just listen to the song? I feel heavy.

"The night Camilla sang, in the middle of her singing, she and Eli looked at each other, until they continued to stare at each other. Those looks and gazes... there is something strange, there is love to be seen. It seems that in our generation it's called, love at first sight." When he tells the story gently, there is an explanation to make sure we can understand it.

"What is the song she sang?" Xaji asked curiously.

"Total Eclipse of the Heart," our tour guide said with a smile, "Isn't it amazing? She's just a poor Filipina but she knows how to use the English language." He continued to smile in amazement.

I wanted to listen but I was really sleepy. I just slapped the earphone in my ear and leaned my head against the window to get some sleep.

"Sam..."

"Sam,"

"Sammy!" I heard Leslie calling me while slightly shaking my arm.

"Hmm?" I only responded with my eyes still closed.

"Wake up," she said politely while laughing slightly so I doubted again that maybe she was just messing with me.

"What the hell Leslie, I'm still sleepy." I reaped strongly while flipping over to the other side.

"Then don't, I'll let you to be left by us here on the bus," she said angrily. I'm sure hee eyes are rolling at me right now.

I slowly opened my eyes so that I wouldn't be shocked by any lights.

"Where are we now?" I asked while still stretching.

"Near in our school, one corner before our school," Leslie answered as she prepared herself to get off.

I just nodded, I was about to prepare myself to go down before we go home when suddenly mommy called.

"Si mamá?" (Yes mom?) I asked after I answer the call.

"Where are you? Are you going home?" She asked.

"Yes, we're almost at school. Why? Did something happen?" I answered and asked her a question too because she usually doesn't call me when I'm outside unless it's late at night.

"Nothing, Camilla is just looking for you, drive safely." She said and the call was cut off.

"Sam, you have car, right?" Leslie asked suddenly.

"Yea, why?" I responded in surprise while turning around, I didn't bother to glance at her.

"Can you drop me off at my house?" She said shyly.

I smiled and looked at him, "sure, but where is Clarence?" I asked looking in the mirror again. It's surprising that she won't be picked up.

"Ahh, we had a fight," she replied. I just nodded while arranging my things in the bag.

Clarence is my childhood friend. He's an ideal man, tall, white skin, and I can really say he's handsome because he has beautiful brown eyes, pinkish lips, long eyelashes, thick but curved eyebrows, and most of all, he has a dimple.

He also became my best friend for several years. And I'll admit, I once liked him. Who doesn't like someone who is kind, smart, respectful, considerate, and caring? He has almost everything you look for in a man. In our 4th year high school, I was about to confess my feelings for him, but the day I was about to confess, that was the day I found out that Leslie, my girl best friend, had a crush on him. So I decided to leave it to my best friend rather than be destroyed by what the three of us have.

I was hurt, of course. But I can say that I thought carefully, and I thought that maybe what we have is right. Maybe it's okay just like this, nothing will be broken, nothing will end between us. And I can say that I made the right decision to be patient because I see that their relationship is healthy and happy. Not just now because they are fighting.

After all; no one knows, and my secret view will remain a secret.
