Chapter 39(Dreams and Nightmares)

Thorne abruptly ripped the sheet from his journal and tossed it into the trash can yet another hypothesis. “A hypothesis gone wrong?” Miles asked.

He looked to find him strolling through the lab, touching and fiddling through his experiments. Miles raised a beaker filled with a dark solution and observed it quietly. He shook the beaker and watched as the fluid swirled in the glass. He brought the beaker to his nose and sniffed it.

“How exactly do you know what I am thinking? Are you doing it again?” Thorne snapped as he swiped the beaker from his hand.

“You know how my abilities work, brother and trust me, I have no interest in knowing the horrors that run through your head. That is some foul-scented liquid. What is that?” Miles asked, curiously.

“An experiment in progress. What are you doing here?” Thorne asked flatly.
