Chapter 61(The runaway)

Lucky abruptly jerked from bed with a start. She clutched the sheet to her chest, panting and gasping for air. She rubbed her eyes and looked around the room to find Aeges, bare-chested, standing in the doorway to the balcony, quietly sipping a cup of tea. “Did the noise wake you love?” he asked softly. His back was still turned to her with his eyes lazily gazing at the city below.

“Who was it?” Lucky asked.

She slumped into the pillows with a groan, stretching her body and tugging the sheets closer to her naked body.

“Was?” Aeges turned around with a questioning look.

“The screams stopped so whoever it was is probably dead,”

Aeges chuckled softly as he walked back to the bed. He sat beside her, leaned closer and gathered her in his arms. Lucky gladly rose to his touch, wrapped her arms around his neck and shot for his lips.

“Sometimes, I forget who you are?” He whispered on her lips. “Your mistake,” she giggled.

“What did I miss?” she asked.
