I'm doomed

After few minutes of laughing and teasing. I saw Nate stand up and hug my sister and dad. I quickly ran inside my room to avoid getting caught.

I lay in my bed to rest and then take a shower later on. While doing my skin care routine someone knock at my door.

"Baby sis? Still awake?"

"Yes, come in."

"Can I sleep here?" my sister asked. I nod and tap the empty space beside me.

"Hmmm, my little Meg is acting sweet", I tease her while combing her hair. "So how's the party? I hope you really enjoy your day."

"Yes! Of course I really enjoyed it! My friends are there, you, mom and dad. I got the best gift from you. And I still have a week left from my Vacation Leave. I got all I need what else could I ask for?".

"Well...a boyfriend maybe?" She looked at me and raise her eyebrow. I don't know if I'm going to laugh or what. She crossed her arms and faced me.

"You know what you're just like daddy, you're always pushing with that boyfriend thing. I didn't meet the one yet and besides I don't need it." She firmly said.

"Okay relax sis, relax. I'm just you know...worried? You're almost 30 and your life is perfect you're just missing one thing, which is a partner in life." I explain to her so that she can calm down.

"Well sorry baby sis but having no boyfriend doesn't mean there's lacking in my life, I don't need anyone to complete me."

"Okay, okay. Easy their tiger". I tease her.

She throws a pillow at me and the pillow fight just began. We keep on running around the room and later on we fell asleep.

Next day, as I was walking downstairs I already hear the laughter of my parents and Meg but I didn't expect that we have a visitor. She's wearing a white polo shirt, navy blue shorts and white converse. Her hair is neatly fixed and an earring on her left ear. I saw Nate making coffee for Meg while having a conversation with my parents. The table is full of different dishes, such as ham, eggs, tocino and sinangag. Typical Pinoy Breakfast.

"Good morning Monica!" Nate greeted me.

"Hey good morning Nate, good morning guys!"

"Coffee? Tea? Juice? What do you want Monica?" Nate politely asks.

"Oh, don't bother yourself Nate, you're our guest I should be the one serving you." She smiles at me and tap my shoulder, sign to ask me to sit down.

"Please let me Monica, just sit there". She smiles at me then handed over the coffee.

"What are you going to do today? Any plans to go out?" Mom ask while eating. We don't have any reason to go out so we're just planning to stay in the house. But mom requested that we accompany her to the mall.

"How about you Nate, any plans later?"

"Oh, yes tita! Tito and I will play chess."

"Ah right! We will play later. You can go to the mall later ladies but leave Nate with me. We have a tournament later." Says dad after he drinks his coffee.

We decided to stay in the house for a while since malls open around 11AM. So while waiting we watch Nate and Daddy's game. I've heard that dad never beats Nate when it comes to this game. We stay in the living room watching them. Dad is so serious while Nate looks relax. This is their 2nd game, it's funny that my father doesn't want to admit that he can't win against Nate. When we all thought that for this round dad will win, Nate suddenly says "checkmate!". Dad slap his thigh and said, "I almost win! If you guys weren't noisy I would have won."

"Oh come on dad! We're not talking, we're not even breathing just so you can focus on the game." Meg teases our dad.

"Honey just accept the fact that you can't beat Nate". Mom says while laughing.

Just in time when they finish it's quarter to 11:00AM. We decided to prepare and go to the mall. While Dad and Nate stay in the house. It's just a 30-minute drive. When we arrived mommy automatically go to the section where she saw the Tea Set she wants. While she's looking for other things to buy I saw Meg holding a box of Green and Chamomile Tea while checking Tea set as well.

"Hey when did you ever like tea?" I asked her.

"Oh this is not mine, it's for Nate."

"I see, so she loves Tea."

"Yep, which one is better? The marble one or the clear one?"

"The Marble one looks elegant."

"Great! I'll just buy this."

We continue to check other things and I see this as an opportunity to ask about Nate.

"Sis? How long you've known Nate? I'm just wondering because this is the first time I met her."

"It's been years. Hmmmm, since elementary days. Do you remember every vacation? You always chose to stay with Granny in Cali while me I always come with Dad in the province.

"Oh! I see. But how come I know your other friends aside from her?"

"That is because when we meet, it's either in the province or if she's here in Manila we meet in a restaurant...oh wait! Hang on. I remember she stays in our house one time, however you're in Japan that time.

"I see, that explains it. Sis... actually I heard your conversation last night with dad and Nate. Uhm, please don't get me wrong. I know LGBTQ+ is really normal and accepted nowadays. But it's a good thing there's no awkward moment with you and Nate? As far as I know she's the only one who's not straight in your squad."

"Surprisingly, no. You know that feeling, our friendship just flow naturally we just click together. And besides I base on a person's character if how will I feel towards them, and Nate is such a wonderful person."

"Okay, I can tell she's nice."

"She is. And she's the most understanding person I've ever known in my life."

"Ohh... that's why you're very close. To the point that even Dad approved her to be your partner. Well, are you considering her to be your girlfriend? I mean is there any chance?"

Meg was about to answer but mom called us. We paid what we buy and grab some snacks. I don't know why but I really wanted to get an answer from my sister. Does she like Nate? Is there something going on between them?

It's almost dinner time when we arrive. I gave France the cake that we bought so that she can prepare it. I saw mama in the kitchen smiling and wiping her new Tea Set, it's really funny watching her she acts like a kid with her new toy. Meg went straight to her room to wash up and I do the same. After few minutes I'm finished taking a bath then mom knocks on my door. "Nica, once you're done go downstairs call your sister too."

"Yes mom!" I immediately went straight to my sister's room and barge in. I heard someone in the CR so I open the door. And that time my soul separated from my body."

For fuck sake! Fucking Nate is in front of me N-A-K-E-D!!!
