Do You Like Like Me

Blood was dripping like water and the knife was coming out at the other side of Lucas hand.

It was a really gruesome sight that even the guy eyes were twitching.

Michelle was scared out of her wits and was literally begging Lucas to take his hands away.

She tried asking Robert and Mark to talk sense into him but they were too busy with Grace and Beatrice that they completely ignored him.

"Lucas stop it, if you continue your hands may be paralysed",Michelle tried convincing him.

Like lightning,Lucas made a move and the guy was laying on the floor with blood gushing out of his neck.

Lucas untied Michelle and she immediately took a look at his hand,very sad they he went through that because of him. It made her think Lucas was really in love with her else why would he go to that length for her.

When she let go of his hand we walked over to Grace and gave her a tight slap and kicked her in the stomach.

How could you,you came to me apologising so intensely that I believe you,you were my best friend", Michelle shouted,trying her best to control her anger.

"How dare you talk,you took everything away from me,everything. Everyone I liked you always managed to seduce them and yet you are saying am your best friend", she replied without any shame.

She had always been jealous of Michelle because of her beauty and shape,they went almost every where together so she was always present when boys will surround her,vying her her attention,expressing their desire to be her boyfriend and treating her like she was invisible.

Michelle was shocked at her boldness in saying that, "who did I seduce",she asked in a hoarse voice.

"You don't know,the first was Jake then Lucas and...",she got caught off by Lucas who threw her away,his tolerance limit crossed.

Since they was no more danger the four of them left the restaurant and Lucas called some people to take Grace and Beatrice away.

Robert didn't go to the hospital with them,he left after it was confirmed that their was nothing wrong with Michelle.

Lucas was taking to the intensive care unit in the hospital. He was put under anaesthetic which didn't work for him so he did the operation awake.

Everything took no more than two hours and the doctor came out.

"We tried all we could but the condition. of his hand isn't yet determined,for now his right hand is paralysed till further notice. But if he doesn't put too much pressure on the hand it should be back to normal in three to four months.", the doctor explained and Michelle went pale.

"But can we see him now", Michelle said shakily.

"Sure",he said and left.

Michelle walked in,her legs weak. Upon seeing Lucas bandaged hand her heart soured,good thing it was that she didn't know he did the operation awake.

"Lucas,am sorry,you wouldn't have gotten into this if not for my stupidity and carelessness. I owe you one for this",Michelle said with years in her eye while Mark stood silently.

Lucas looked at her and said a bit coldly, "you got to keep your promise".

Michelle's mind wen wild with what he had said and the compassion she had for him earlier reduced seeing that he could still put up an attitude.

"Do you plan on staying in the hospital tonight",Mark asked when he finally asked.

"No, take me home", Lucas said as an authoritarian he is.

Marl nodded and left the ward leaving only Lucas and Michelle inside.

Michelle walked nearer to Lucas bed and sat on the stool beside the bed.

"By the way why did you react in that manner and let yourself get hurt", Michelle asked innocently and Lucas eye darkened.

"So you mean I shouldn't have saved you",he asked coldly.

"No!! Am just asking why you would put yourself in harms way because of me, but I really do appreciate it", Michelle tried explaining but it didn't ease the tension in the atmosphere of the ward.

"Simple,because I can't let my girlfriend get hurt in my presence",he asked emotionlessly.

It stunned Michelle and she curiosity got the better of her making her asked, "Lucas do you have feeling for me, I mean do you like like me?".

Lucas didn't reply but closed his eyes seemingly ignoring her,along her presence invincible.
