Chapter 3: Justin

A few days after Nice was shot.

"Ow." Nice said as he got up in a hospital room

"You're awake, try not to move too much or you'll open your stitches." Mars said

"So what happened?"

Mars brought him back up to speed.

"I see."

"So what do you want to do now?"

"Well first off how was the other guy and then where is everyone else?"

"He is fine and the others are busy with other things."

"So they are cleaning up the mess."

"Sounds about right."

"When do I get back to work?"

"When they say you can."

"Fine."

"Well he doesn't have to wait too long, his wounds have healed very fast after being shot." The doctor said as he came in

"So can I leave?"

"Yes, you can leave in a few hours."

"Alright."

"You don't like doctors?"

"That is none of your business."

"Ok? Well, see you later." As Mars got up and walked away

When he got outside his phone rang and he answered it.

"Yes, what is it, Melody?"

"Our end is done, how is Nice?" Melody asked

"He is fine, he can leave in a few hours."

"That's good to hear."

"So did we find any information?"

"No, I didn't find anything about him. Kai tried looking around on the web but nothing but old news."

"Maybe we can find more when we get together and discuss."

"So when do we get started?" Nice said as he came up behind

"Thought they said to wait a little longer?"

"They said as long as it doesn't hurt I can go so I'm fine so let's get going."

"If you say so, but try not to get hurt anymore." As Mars hung up the phone

"Where are we heading?"

"We are going to go back to base and discuss what to do next."

"Let's get going then."

They both went back to meet the others.

"Hey, you're back." Kai said as he looked at them

"Yeah well don't count on it, you are about to go on your next mission. But we have to switch it, because of the first tier." Melody said

"Fun, so how are we going to do this?" Nice asked

"Mars and Kai are teaming up, and Lucifer and you are also teaming up."

"Are you sure this is a good combination?" Nice asked

"I'm sorry but I didn't have a choice, due to the problem at the dance."

"This isn't going to end well." Kai said

"I know but just try it for now."

"Fine let's just hurry up and get this done." Nice said

"Well, Nice and Lucifer are going to investigate missing people, Mars and Kai are going to help with the missing people in another area."

"So people are going missing here and first-tier?" Mars asked

"Yes."

"What do they have in common?" Nice asked

"They have abilities which I find strange."

"That they are going missing and no one else?" Lucifer said

"The more time we stand and talk the less time we have to find them." Nice said as he started walking away

"We'll see you later Melody." As they all started walking off

"Good luck guys!" She yelled

They all went their separate ways.

"So where do we start looking first?" Nice asked

"Well, let's go and start asking people if they have seen anything suspicious happening." Lucifer said

"You do your thing and I'll do mine so good luck."

"Ok?" As they walked in different directions

"Nice!" A voice yelled as a kick came at his discretion

"You've been getting better." As he grabbed hold of the boy's leg and put him down

"I knew you were coming."

"With your ability of course Mori."

"Hey I have a question, are you sure you want to find the missing people?"

"Yes, why?"

"You have to be very careful."

"Why?"

"It might get dangerous."

"Don't worry, I like a little danger."

"Nice! We caught a suspicious person!" A kid yelled as he came over to them with a rope in hand

"I keep telling you I'm not suspicious!"

Lucifer yelled as he was tied up

"Let him go, he is with me."

"But."

"Let him go."

"Ok." As he unwrapped him

"Thanks."

"So did you find anything out?" Nice asked

"Somewhat apparently the missing people are being held in an abandoned building which we might want to get a hold of Kai and Mars to see if we can get any help."

"That is a good idea."

"Alright." As he pulled out his phone and called Mars

"Hey you too might want to get going and head back to eat or she'll get mad." Nice said

"Ok, but will you be ok?" Mori asked

"Yes."

Mori nodded and they both ran off.

"So when do you want to head out?" Lucifer asked

"Let's get going." Nice said as he started walking

"Alright, this way Mars and Kai will be on their way soon." As they both started to head to the abandoned building

With Mars and Kai.

"Lucifer called me. It seems they might have a lead and he told me where they are going so we should hurry up and get going." Mars said as he put his phone away

"Alright, then we better get going then." As Kai (he has a backpack with a computer in it) started walking and Mars went up beside him

Lucifer and Nice got to the abandoned building.

"Maybe we should wait for the other two?" Lucifer asked

"No, we need to hurry and get this done."

"Hello and welcome to my place. By the way, you can have the people back. I just needed them to get you here." A voice said

"Show yourself!" Nice yelled

"Calm down 13246."

Then everything started getting heavy.

"Nice?"

"How do you know that?!"

"Oh, struck a nerve. I know that from a friend you might know him as Geno before I killed him."

Then Mars and Kai came in.

"To hell with you!" As a symbol appeared on the right side of his face

"Nice wait, don't do anything!" Kai yelled as a bunch of people started running past them

"Get down here!"

"Alright then." The voice said as a figure walked out and the building was almost empty. "The name is Justin."

Nice didn't say anything but came at Justin (ability to control the dark) but he just sunk down into his shadow.

"Come on, you can do better than that, can't you?" His voice echoed

Then Nice screamed and slammed his hand into the ground which started to destroy the building.

"We need to get out of here." Lucifer said as he turned around and ran out along with Mars and Kai

"Will he be ok?" Kai asked

"I don't know how long he will last. His ability puts too much strain on his body which might eventually kill him."

"Then we need to stop him." Lucifer said

"I know but first we need to get to him."

"I can only stall him for a bit." Kai said as he ran out waving his arms "Hey over here come on!"

"Well, I guess I'll take my leave." As it went silent but Nice's rampage

"So how long do you want me to distract him?!"

"Till I get up to him!"

"Ok!"

Then Nice started coughing blood.

"That's not a good sign."

Then Nice started chasing(more like flying) after Kai.

"Oh shit!" As he started running

"Bring him this way!" Mars yelled

"Incoming!" As he ran past Mars and Nice followed

"And one." As Mars jumped up and grabbed Nice's arm which caused them to fall but gravity started to get heavier around them. "Come on."

"Mars!" Lucifer yelled

"No, stay back! His ability won't stop."

"But if you stay there you're going to die because of how much pressure there is."

Then the pressure started to lighten up.

"Huh?"

"I'm sorry." As Nice passed out and the symbol disappeared

"Oh, that's good." As Mars also passes out

"Hey." As Kai went over to them

"What are we going to tell Melody?" Lucifer asked

"Well let's get these two out of here and then tell her."

"Fine but where will we take them?"

"You can take them to our home." Mori said as he came walking over avoiding the debris

"It's you again from earlier." Lucifer said

"Come on, we need to get out of here before people start coming to check out what happened."

"Ok Kai grab Nice and I will get Mars."

"Alright." Kai said as he grabbed one of Nice's arms and put it around his shoulder and Lucifer did the same to Mars

They followed Mori to a giant building.

"Where are we?" Kai asked

"Home! Nice helped make along with everyone in the lower tier."

"That's interesting."

"Come on, let's go. I told Clare already that we were coming earlier."

They went in and took Nice and Mars into bedrooms and Lucifer started to use his ability to start healing Mars. Kai left the room.

"So how did you know where we were?"

"My ability is to see into the future, that is why I told him. It might get dangerous."

"Yeah, he's got a bad habit of not listening."

"I don't think he was that bad back then."

"Back then?"

"He doesn't like talking about his past so we don't bother him."

"Yeah, he doesn't like it when we ask either."

"Alright, Mars will be ok surprisingly even though he was pushed on with Nice's gravity."

"It looked like he was trying to hold back most of his ability to try not to crush him and not destroy anything else."

"Look what I have!" A kid yelled as he came running out of the room holding a necklace

"Wait where did you come from!" Kai yelled

The kid bumped into a woman.

"That's not yours, give it back or you'll make me mad." She said

"Sorry, Clare." As he walked to Lucifer and handed it to him

"Thanks now, let's see who this is?" He said as he opened it up and it had a picture

"Hey this almost looks like Mars when he was a kid and that must be his parents."

"Where is it!" They heard Mars yell as he came out the door

"Calm down is it this?" Lucifer asked as he held up the necklace

"Yes, thanks." As he took it and put it around his neck

"Is that your family?"

"Yes, my mom passed away when I was a kid and my father was really not there after that."

"I'm sorry." Clare said as she came over

"That's ok. By the way, how long have we been out for?"

"Not too long and I have to tell Melody that we found the people and they are safe."

"Ok, we need to hurry up and get ready for the next mission."

"Whoa slow down you need to take breaks now and then."

"Alright then."

"Man you guys are loud." Nice said as he came up to the doorway

"You're ok." Clare said as she looked at him

"Uh hey, Clare."

"So you finally decided to come by and see us."

"It's good to see you."

"Same."

"Well, I'm going to go and get dinner started." As she walked off

"Oh no. Maybe you should cook us something Nice." Mori said as he started following

"I guess?"

"I can't believe Nice knows how to cook."

"Well, he does stay (he lives like he has a room) in Artemis." Mars replied

"I wonder what his cooking skill is like?" Kai asked

"I can hear you, you know."

They cooked and all sat down to eat. Clare's food looked strange.

"Um, is this safe to eat?" Kai asked

"Maybe."

"Come on, eat up." Clare said as she walked over to them

"Um how about I eat Nice's food instead." Kai said as he started eating some of Nice's food that he cooked

Everyone started eating the food that Nice cooked while leaving Clare's strange food alone.

"Do you not like my food?"

"Um, it looks a little strange that is why." Kai replied

"Ok well, I guess I'll try a little harder next time."

"It's been a long time since I sat at a table with a lot of people." Mars thought

"Hey, are you not hungry?" Mori asked

"Huh oh not really just thinking."

"You better eat Nice rarely cooks for all of us so most of the time we are eating Clare's food."

"Alright by the way, where did Nice go?"

"I think he went to go see him." Clare replied

"Him? Who do you mean?" Lucifer asked

"Nice's adoptive father."

"So where is he at?" Kai asked

"He's dead."

"Oh well, that is something."

"Might just leave him alone so he can deal with that."

With Nice

"Hey, today I sat at the table with everyone along with some people from Artemis. It was ok I guess but I wish you were here so you could meet them. Well, see you later." As he got up and walked away

He made it back

"He's back, come on the lower-tier has a gift for you."

"What is it?" As Clare grabbed his hand and pulled him back out the door. "Hey!"

"Alright let's begin!" She yelled as fireworks lit up the sky and she let go of his hand and turned to face him

"Happy birthday Nice!" The kids yelled

"We didn't know when your birthday was so when we found out you were one year younger than Kai we made today your birthday." Lucifer said

"Hey, are you crying?" Mars asked

"No, I'm not." Nice said as he wiped his face but tears kept falling

"Hey, it's ok to cry." Clare said

Then Nice continues crying.

"Well, we won't be seeing that again." Kai said as he looked at Mars

"True." Mars said as one of the kids came over and hugged Nice

A bit later Nice stopped crying.

"You good?" Lucifer asked

"Yeah, I'm fine."

"It's been a long day so let's go and get some sleep then we leave tomorrow." Mars said
