Near

Are we close? Asked Karamir. Yes, the caves will appear in front of our eyes, anytime now, she replied. The eyes of Karamir lit up. Okay, he said to her, nervously! He fidgeted with his fingers like a small child would. She looked at him, but he did not care. He smiled and walked on this planet, weightless! Seeing him like that, removed the sorrow she carried in her heart. For a minute she too felt the light of the moon on her. She smiled and stood there, as Karamir walked in front of her and even carried on with a few steps without realising that he was not following anyone. He was used to it, after all. Not following anyone and taking the lead. All his life he had taken the lead. And barely listened to anyone! But not this time, he was too frail in the heart to be arrogant. He turned back and saw her smiling. He walked back to her like a small child would and stood beside her. Please! He said to her pointing his hands in the direction ahead. She laughed, playing with him! She took a liking to him, he understood. She took a liking at many of the dwarves. The reason behind her fondness for them was still a mystery! No Hylin in the history of their existence has ever took a liking to a dwarf. Worse, no liking had ever seen a dwarf and not thought of them as an enemy! But here she was carrying such pain in her heart because of a dwarf. Careful! Said Karamir. Akira stopped on her tracks as there was a steep pit a foot away from her. She thanked him and then she remembered something. That even the evilest of the dwarves carried no I'll contempt in their hearts. They could strike a knife though your heart, but only because there was injustice done to them. They would not hurt you without a reason! And god they are so brave! She thought. So brave that the most timid of the dwarves would take a bullet to themselves if the circumstances needed it. So would have Leonadir, she got a bit somber. He would have put himself before hers every single time. A second not, he would have wasted. She looked up at the skies and whispered "I hope you are safe wherever you are". Was he a good one? Asked Karamir. Yes, he did not have a shred of misdeed in him. His heart must have been in the right place, said Karamir as he placed his hand on his. He felt the heart beat loudly and it scared him. "I certainly am no good man" but I still have my heart. Even though I don't deserve it, he said to her. You are a good man, you just don't know it, she said to him. Grunted Karamir, maybe so. But certainly not as good as the man you loved. You underestimate yourself, she said to him. You go to such lengths to be back with the people you love, she said. Any man would, said Karamir underestimating his own honourable pursuit. Not many, she said and continued to walk. God knows how many men have run away from their families under this moonlight, or any other moonlight that shines on any planet across the universe. Men have left their families to feed for themselves. Left a women all alone with their small children. Just so that their lives would be of less burden, she said. So did I, said Karamir in a very regretful tone. But none returned back to them. But none traveled a few roads to get to them, but you traveled across the galaxy just so you can be with them, she said to him. None put a bullet in the head of a man. None put the lives of so many people at risk, he said to her. You must have your reasons, she said. Karamir laughed. I think that if you see any dwarf in a bad light, your life would stop making sense, he said to her. His eyes grew sharp and merciless. There are bad dwarves, really bad ones. Far worse than I'am. Who would stab you for gold and not think about it! I have yet to come across one, she replied holding her belief to her dearself! I think that she could not see anyone who was akin to Leonadir be capable of evil of any sort! You can even change a person's loyalty, family. But you cannot change one's belief! Thought Karamir. Maybe their belief is what keeps them going, living! Without it, one would simply cease to exist!
