Bygor

Bygor the centaur. Feared by the evil and worshiped by the good. The lore says he was born to a demigod. And thereby making him immortal. He roamed freely around the parts where the dwarves resided! And no dwarf feared him. They walked where he walked. Their eyes met, but they never spoke. They never greeted each other. Even a smile was not exchanged, but they respected each other as neighbours. Bygor hunter animals and ate them. Everyone knew that. But he never ate the animals that were killed by a dwarf. Nor was he about to do so today! But he was wary of another creature that lurked there. Precisely, the man form the kingdom. Bygor did not speak, but rather stood there staring at the man. Philippe too, never afraid of any man or creature that walked the planet. Stood his ground! He stared right into the centaurs eyes. They were locked in a gaze. The dwarves did not care that much, nor did the children. They got busy picking up the hunted trusks and were ready to head home. " I think it's getting late " hinted Ilvandir to Philippe. Philippe did not budge, nor did the centaur. They were still fiercely locked into a duel, without actually fighting. Come on, said Ilvandir to the troop. " The lights are about to fall " he said. Philippe heard that. He turned around and walked back with them, after realising for the reason that he had come. " He is not a mortal" you know that. Don't you? asked Ilvandir. Neither am I, replied Philippe. There were no words that were spoken between the two. After racing a few steps. Ilvandir spoke, without any hesitation he asked him. "Can you hunt a dragon?" he asked him. Depends on the dragon! Replied the counsel in a calm demeanour. Ilvandir again felt silent, but he began to conjure up a plan in his mind. Buskar now joined them, leaving Ilkir with the children. But I'am not here to kill a dragon, am I? asked Philippe. Certainly not! Replied Ilvandir. Good! he said to the Dwarf. And Buskar was left a bit confused, at the utterance of words such as a dragon. He looked around the skies to see if one was swirling around them, just to make sure! Do not make a fool of yourself in front of strangers, said Ilvandir. Philippe laughed, but he too at the back of his mind wondered if there was a dragon that roamed these parts of the sky. Could there be another dragon in this planet? He wondered. An evil, terrible dragon! the implications would be dangerous.

Images of a fire breathing dragon at night, flashed in his mind. Spewing fire all around the kingdom. Burning houses and the people running outside their homes soaked in flames! The thought of it, sent shivers down his spine.

We are here! Said Ilvandir as the caves loomed large in front of them. Philippe was taken back to reality from the nightmare he had just dreamt! His soul had left his body for a second. His eyes looked lifeless! Are you alright son!? asked Ilvandir to Philippe! As good as I can be, he replied as he looked up now. This time, he searched for his soul. Welcome to our homes, Ilvandir said as they stepped inside.

Philippe for a second, looked at the caves and his thoughts yet again wandered! Dragons! He gasped.
