Emilia directs Jak and Dietrich to enter Dimitri's office and then heads upstairs. Dietrich gently grabs her hand to stop her. She looks back at him, her eyes swirling with an unknown emotion. Dietrich opens his mouth to speak but no words come out. She tilts her head and a strand of black hair falls into her face. The way he stares at the stray hair makes it obvious that he wants to fix it for her.
"Don't even think about it. That's way too cringy, even for us." She laughs and turns away. "Emilia, we still need to talk about that thing." Dietrich hints, not wanting Jak to know what he's referring to. "Do we? I thought we had already come to an agreement that it wasn't going to happen." She replies with a bored expression.
Dietrich releases her hand and watches her ascend the steps, retreating to her bedroom. What did she mean by that? It isn't going to happen? 'Does she mean to say that she's going to reject me after all? Or maybe she didn't know what I was referring to? This woman doesn't make any sense, one second she's sweet and the next she's like a robot devoid of any emotion.' He thinks to himself as he walks back towards the office.
Emilia returns to her room and plops down on her bed. "What am I supposed to do? What does he honestly expect me to say? Yes Dietrich, I am sexually attracted to you? But I'm not. Am I..? No, I'm not. It's just this stupid bond making it seem like I am. I don't feel anything for him, except maybe gratitude for helping me out of all these messed up situations." She thinks aloud to herself.
The sound of the door opening and closing makes Emilia jump up from her bed. She settles down when she sees that it's just Patrick. "What do you want?" She grumbles. "Well I was walking past and happened to hear you talking to yourself in here. Thought I might as well come inside instead of eavesdropping at your door like some lunatic stalker." Patrick shrugs. "You say that as if you aren't a lunatic stalker." Emilia quips in response.
Patrick rolls his eyes and sits next to her on her bed. "You know, just because you're frustrated about not being capable of understanding your own feelings doesn't mean you should take it out on me. Now tell me honestly, you're trying to figure out if what you're feeling towards Dietrich is because of the bond or your own feelings? Then why don't you just do a little test to find out?" He offers. "What kind of test?" Emilia asks while sitting up. "Well, that new guy is your ex, right? And I'm assuming the split is pretty fresh since Dietrich said it hasn't been long since you left your old home. There should still be some kind of feelings there, yes?" He asks.
Emilia stops to think. "Well, honestly all I feel towards Jak right now is anger and pain. He hurt me a lot. And what's worse, he did at the moment where I needed his support the most." Emilia explains. "I see, then it's pretty simple. Make a move on Jak." Patrick suggests. Emilia smacks him on the back of his head. "You're stupid. How would making a move on Jak tell me whether or not I have legitimate feelings for Dietrich?" She asks. "If you feel guilty about it then you have feelings for him. If you don't feel guilty then you don't have any for him." He points out.
"Also, stop hitting me damn it. That shit hurts, especially since you obviously don't know how to control your strength." He adds. Emilia rolls her eyes. "What if this plan of yours backfires and I get back with Jak?" Emilia asks. "Then I get to watch the Northern Prince writhe in pain from his mate's betrayal. It's a win-win situation no matter how you look at it." He chuckles. Emilia glares at him. "Sounds to me like you're the one who wins in every scenario while someone else loses." Emilia says with suspicion. "Tomato tomato." Patrick shrugs and leaves the room.
Emilia lies back down on her bed and thinks about her options. 'I mean, I guess I could do that. But then… Wouldn't I be doing the same thing that I just got mad at Dietrich for doing to me? Well, I didn't actually get to take my revenge on him for that yet. This could work. If he asks why then I can just say I'm leveling the playing field.' She thinks to herself.
She stays in her room while thinking of the best way to go about enacting this devious plan. A knock at her door startles her as she jumps out of bed. "Yes?" She shouts. "Miss, it is time for dinner. His majesty has asked the entire family, guests included, to join him at the dining table since lunch was skipped during the ruckus." Says the voice of an unknown male from the outside of her room. "Alright, I will be right down." She shouts back. She listens as the man's footsteps recede and then begins getting ready. She doesn't have much time so she changes into a simple grey t-shirt and some new shorts and then heads downstairs.
Emilia enters the dining hall and sees that everyone else is already seated. Only three options were available for her. The question is, does she begin her plan now and sit next to Jak? Or does she wait and sit next to Dietrich? Or avoid both of the men in question and sit beside Patrick? She looks between the three men and makes her choice quickly, sitting in the seat by Patrick.
"Coward." Patrick whispers in her ear. "Shut up, it's just not the right time for that. I'm going to do it, just wait." She whispers back. She looks up and notices Dietrich giving them an amused look. In his eyes, this probably looks like a wholesome sibling thing, sharing secrets with one another. If only he knew that this was actually part of a plot against him and not a sibling bonding moment. "You're strong physically but you're a weak wimp when it comes to facing your emotions." Patrick whispers, poking at Emilia. "Will you just shut it and let me enjoy my first meal with our family?" She pokes back. Patrick closes his mouth and sits straight, rewarding Emilia with the victory for now.
