Kyle uttered gratefully, "Thank you, Mr. Sullen, for taking mercy on our family!"


"You're done here!" Jacob dismissed him with a wave of his hand. 


Kyle got to his feet and bowed deeply to Jacob. Then he spun and left the room without sparing Cassie a glance. 


Leonard blocked his exit, upset at Kyle's earlier words. He demanded, "Mr. Anderson, we signed a contract. How can you terminate our partnership on a whim? Plus, you can't just hold my project commission hostage!"


"Get lost!" Kyle scolded impatiently. "What can you do if I refuse to release your payment?" 


Leonard steeled his nerves and threatened, "I'm not scared of you. You may be an Anderson, but you were begging pitifully for Jacob's mercy just minutes ago. You must pay my project commission in full if you cancel the contract. My cousin Ben is one of Mr. Campbell's men. I have no qualms about involving him if the situation turns ugly."
