"Since you're looking to join Mystic Vessel Sect. Why have you chosen to become a disciple of Gustav instead of Hill?" Ethan inquired quizzically.

As the leader of the Mystic Vessel Sect, Hill was the natural choice if one were looking for a master. In addition, one's position in the Mystic Vessel Sect would naturally be higher as Hill's disciple.
