Unprepared Battle

The church council started murmuring when Father Francis suggested exorcism. " This isn't just about about Lily and her family, it's about our community, perhaps it's even more than that" Father Francis added. " Father Francis, you do know the implications of an exorcism, right?" Bishop Solomon cautioned, " Yes Sir," he replied. " Do we even know what we're up against? What sort of spirit are we looking at? What does it do?" Father Luis asked " So far all we know is that she somehow teleported and somehow hypnotized a man and the reason we don't know ".

They were all skeptical about performing exorcism. Father Francis hoped and prayed that they agree and tried to convince them " That child is innocent" he said " She's an orphan who happens to be possessed by a very powerful spirit...", he was cut short before he could complete his statement, " You've said it yourself, a very powerful spirit that we know nothing about. We keep going in circles Father Francis and it's taking us nowhere" the Arch Bishop protect. " Yes but we can try to communicate with this spirit, I insist we give it a try at least".

Amongst the church council, were some from Carvis, best known as the Land of Decay who were very familiar with Deville, they've seen pictures of her during their stay in the village. " Hold on" said Father Jordan, a priest residing in Carvis. Father Jordan joined the ministry after the fall of Carvis, he was discipled and afterwards inaugurated to priesthood. " You made mention of a man who calmed to know her and somehow he denied knowing her afterwards, right?" he said " Do we know where the man is from, his name?", " No" Father Francis responded, " But then, it says in your report that he called her by a name, what was the name?". Father Francis tried to recall his conversation with Manuel, " I think it was Jenny, yes, I'm quite sure it was Jenny".

The name, Jenny, echoed in the ears of the priests who came from Carvis, they stirred at each other dumbfound. They look on their faces were now cold and a certain seriousness emanated on their faces. They were well acquired with the name and one person amidst them knew her personally. Father Jordan knew Lily right from birth as he was a friend to her father. However, if she is still alive and in this this village, he knew they had a serious problem.

" We have a big problem" Father Luis said look to everyone seated round the table and then settling his gaze upon Father Jordan, " Well... Jenny is Devile, the same person who brought decay upon Carvis and I'm afraid she's the same person we're calling Lily right now.". On that note everyone went speechless... they stirred each other in the eye, taking deep breaths.

Father Francis knew Lily was a serious case but he didn't think it to be this problematic, now he knew that it wasn't just Lily who needed saving but every single one of them not withstanding the Land and their crops, everything was at stake.
