New guy

In the crowded halls In the crowded halls of Kings Highschool on that Friday afternoon, excitement buzzed in the air as students chatted about their plans for the weekend.

Liam stood next to his opened locker chatting to the fair skin guy that was with him. "So where would you like to eat?" Liam asked, "Anywhere you want honestly, I'm new to this town so you pick." The guy replied, "I know a really good hotpot place, would you like to go there?" He asked, "Sure! No problem with me." The guy agreed.

In the corner of the hallway, Lucas stood there analyzing Liam and the new guy. Suddenly Helena sneaked up on him. "What you doing?" She asked leaning her head on his shoulder. "What the heck!" He gasped, "What are you doing here?" He asked looking at her, "I should be the one asking questions." She told him, "What are you doing spying on my brother?" She asked, "I'm not spying, I'm just umm…. Looking." He replied, "RIGHT!" She said. "You must be curious about German Shepard," she said, "German Shepard?" He remarked questionably. "Yup, the guy that was with Liam. I call him that because he looks like a baby German Shepard and the craziest thing is that his German like me and Liam." She stated, "Liam and he have made a strong connection for these past few weeks his been here. Isn't that cool!" She said. "Yeah, cool…" Lucas replied sadness filled in his voice.

As the weeks went by, Lucas couldn't shake the feeling of jealousy and insecurity that gnawed at him whenever he saw Liam and the new guy, whom everyone affectionately referred to as "German Shepard." Lucas knew that Helena was right about their strong connection, but he couldn't help but wonder if there was more to it than just friendship.

One day at a coffee shop Lucas finished ordering his drink but as he walked out of the shop he bumped into someone. As they clashed the drink he was holding spilled all over him.

"Oh my god, I'm so sorry!" The guy apologized, Lucas looked up and saw Liam and that same guy his always with. They both looked at each other and then they broke eye contact. "It's okay," Lucas said and walked away. "His He going to be okay?" The guy asked, "Don't worry about it, it's just a little stain." Lucas assured him. He wrapped his hand around the guys' shoulders and they walked away.

Lucas's heart was racing as he walked away from the coffee shop, trying to hide the turmoil of emotions he felt inside. Seeing Liam with the new guy again only intensified his feelings of jealousy and longing.

Later that evening while Liam was in his room watching something on his laptop he suddenly gotta a call from Liam. He paused the video as he grabbed his phone and hesitated for a minute. After staring at the phone for minutes he decided to answer the call.

"Hello." Liam greeted him, "Hi Liam what's up?" He asked hiding his nervousness, "we need to talk Lucas," he replied, "talk about what?" "About today and the things that have been happening for this past few weeks." He told, "I don't know what you're talking about Liam." "So are you going to play dumb with me?" Liam asked, "I don't know what else you want me to say, Liam, I've already made it clear to you!" He exclaimed, "So Why are you letting a situation that happened almost two years ago ruin our friendship?!" Liam asked, "You are the one who has gone on and bonded with your new German friend." "Klaus is not a bad guy and I like him." He told him. "That's cool." Lucas chuckled trying to hide the sadness in his voice, "I'm happy for you Liam." He said a crack filling his voice, "I have to go now, bye!" He said quickly hanging up.

He dropped his phone on the bed and buried his face in his pillow. "It's your fault for being a dumb bitch!" He shouted in frustration.

The next day at Liam's house the friend group was having a little gathering.

"Y'all summer break I about to start, so let's brainstorm some plans we could do during summer break!" Helena rejoiced as she a bite out of an apple. "Count me out of any of the planes 'cause I won't be around." Lucas told her, "Where are you going?" She asked, "Well my oldest cousin is getting married in Thailand so we'll have to be there, so will be there for like 2-3 weeks. Also after the wedding, my grandpa is throwing a party for his new company's grand opening in France, which means we'll have to be in France after leaving Thailand. After France, we're going straight to Korea, for my 13th cousin's graduation party. To make a long story short I'm doing a lot of traveling this summer." He explained. Helena, Charlotte, and Evelyn looked at each other in disbelief.

"Rich people behavior." They said in unison. "Wasn't the traveling enough after like traveling to 15 different countries this school semester?" Charlotte asked, "Look I don't mama the decisions. My parents say and I do." He stated, "Man I wish my parents could take me whenever they travel around for work," Helena sighed.

"Klaus is outside I'll go get him," Liam said as he came out of the kitchen. "Oo, can't wait to see him. You've been talking about him every day." Evelyn rejoiced, "Oop!" She gasped covering her mouth. The girls looked over at Lucas concerned and curious. "Did Liam tell you about Klaus?" Charlotte asked, "Yeah, so what?" He asked, "Oh nothing!" Helena said.

A few seconds later Liam walked Into the living room with Klaus behind him. "Umm, Klaus meet my friends." "This is Evelyn, Charlotte, and Lucas. My very close friends." He told him. "It's nice to meet you," Klaus smiled, "I am so happy to see you, I've heard so much about you!" Evelyn rejoiced hugging him, "I didn't know a guy like Liam can pull a beautiful guy like you." Charlotte teased, "What's that supposed to mean?" Liam asked, "Oh nothing." She smiled.

" I'll let you guys talk," he said grabbing the things out of Klaus's hands and taking them to the kitchen. "So I Heard you from German," Evelyn said taking him to sit down.

After getting to know Klaus a little more Liam finished preparing the food and started setting the dinner table. As the others were in the kitchen Lucas and Klaus were in the dining room preparing the table. The atmosphere in the room was a little tense and awkward so Klaus decided to break the ice between them. "How long have you known Liam?" He asked, "huh?" Lucas looked at Klaus, "Oh if you don't mind me asking. How long have you and Lucas known each other?" He asked. "Our whole lives. We grew up together, we all grew up together honestly. Our parents were best friends growing up and we grew up seeing each other every day." He replied, "That's nice, you guys have a really good friendship." Klaus stated. Lucas smiled and went back to setting the table.
