NEWS OF THE FRAT PARTY

It was four thirty a.m. Curtis had just arrived his dorm room after having classes, he looked exhausted and hungry, he unchanged his bag and carefully put it in his locker along with some books he held in hand after which he threw himself like a log of wood beneath the bunk bed that was stationed at the right hand corner of the room. "hello Curtis how are you doing, how was class?"

"class was good Wesley but the whole day was stressful, can't believe I just had four straight classes today and I still alive, jeez I can't even my butt," Curtis said. "yeah college life can be stressful sometimes." Wesley said chuckling. "college life is stressful Everytime." he looked sour. "they tell us do this, they tell us do that, lots a handouts, lots a notes and a whole lot of fucking assignments, sometimes I wish I could just quit." he said rubbing his palms on his face. "whoa easy man, this is your first week of college life and you talking like you can't cope with it, such things are normal, you'll get used to it, when I was a freshman I felt the same way as you are but this is college man, you are expected to do a lot... here you're interested in some tomato pie?" he asked stretching out a ceramic plate of tomato pie towards Curtis. "no I'm fine thank you." he said pretending to be disinterested, in truth he was hungry and he would have loved to have some tomato pie but he didn't want to seem like a burden. "come on Curtis, I'm sure you haven't eaten anything ever since you left this room for breakfast, you had a stressful day and according to you, you can't feel your butt." both guys started giggling. "come on just have it to hold your stomach since you missed lunch, so that you won't faint before dinner." Curtis still giggling collected the tomato pie. "thanks Wesley I'm grateful." Curtis then took a bite of the tomato pie and he sure felt blessed, he felt so not only because it would help subside his hunger but because the tomato pie tasted extremely good. "how much did you pay for this?" Curtis asked with his mouth full of tomato pie. "uh just eight dollars." Wesley replied. "where?"

"I ordered it." Curtis eyes widened as he struggled to swallow the pie. "okay fine so would you help me order four plates of the tomato pie I'll pay for it, this pie is so delicious." Wesley started chuckling hard. "oh Curtis you are funny, anyway I knew you would love it..." he said "ever eaten a tomato pie before?" Wesley asked. "yeah, once, but not as delicious as these." Curtis replied.

"oh really?"

"yeah."

Wesley then reached for his phone. Wesley was in his third year studying political science at the ASU, he was twenty three years old, chubby, white skinned and average height with medium sized brown hair, he was round faced and had a cheerful smile that exposed his deep dimples and snow white teeth, he had a happy face that made him look cute enough for his age, but he was nicknamed Michael Moore because of his double chin and his rectangular glasses. Wesley had little interest in sports which Curtis was unhappy about but he had a strong passion for politics and history which made him fit well and perform excellently in his department right from first year. For the first three days as roommates they seemed incompatible because both guys were entirely different people with different interests and passions but with time they began to gel and flow with one another. "okay ordered it, they say it'll be here in an hour." Wesley said. "okay nice, so how much?" Curtis asked. "Thirty two dollars." he said "okay here is the money." Curtis stretched towards Wesley and handed over three ten dollar bills and six one dollar bills. "thank you." Wesley said collecting it.

About one hour twenty minutes later, they heard a knock on the door, the thought of the tomato pie made Curtis excited and nervous and as much felt some discomfort in his stomach. "that must be him the delivery guy." he looked anxious, Wesley walked towards the door opened it and got the four plates of tomato pie. "taaa da!" Wesley said childishly. "oh sweet, give me two you take two." Curtis said in excitement as he reached out and took out two covered plates of tomato pie from the pile of four Wesley was struggling to hold. "now I am in for a real treat." he said. "you mean we are in for a real treat." Wesley said sarcastically. "yeah yeah we... anyway thanks for making me know about this pie."

"thought you said you've tasted it before."

"no I mean the brand... I have a feeling I would get addicted to these tomato pie someday." both guys started laughing.

Sometime later after Curtis and Wesley were done with their tomato pie they heard a knock on the door. "I'll go get it." Curtis stood up from his bed and headed for the door. "Ben!" Curtis was surprised. "any problem?"

"no Curtis, just something I need to tell you, for the both of us it's really important." Ben said looking anxious. "wait how do you know my room because I don't remember telling you anything about the room I stay in." Curtis was still wandering what Ben would say that was important for both of them, had the school authorities passed on new rules and regulations, was there some important lecture notes they had Missed, was there some assignment they didn't know about, was their continuous assessments starting next week, Curtis became nervous and his pulse started rising, his heart began to thump rapidly. "well for your room I traced it, however that is not important, what I wanted to tell you is that members of the sigma nu fraternity are organizing a frat party tonight and guess what..." he paused. "what?" Curtis asked looking dumbfounded. "the college athletes including the soccer players are going to be present which means we could have an opportunity to meet with these soccer players get acquainted with them, and know a thing or two about being a member of the college soccer team." Ben said smiling. "wow that'll be good." Curtis was excited at the news. "but you know another thing I am excited about?"

"what?"

"what I am also excited about is the fact that there's gonna be free drinks, good music, good vibe, and beautiful sexy hot girls, you know what I'm saying." Curtis frowned at Ben for what he just said. Curtis never liked parties because he was afraid of how dangerous or terrible the atmosphere would become if a fight broke out, he hated hip hop and rock music and was scared he would end up with crack heads as friends who would convince him to do bad stuff. Aside that he heard a lot of things about frat parties both dangerous and explicit and he knew such social gatherings were not for some shy, innocent nineteen year old virgin boy like him.
