Twenty nine

EARLIER.

GRACIE POV

"That's enough. We really have to get going, "I said, trying to pull her up from the booth. "At this rate, we won't make it home tonight. The taxis will be all gone, and then we'll have to trek home".

I shook her again, then groaned as she remained unmoving. I knew it. I'd know this was going to be the outcome of our outing, yet I'd encouraged her.

But it was all because I didn't know what to tell her, I also sucked at trying to comfort people.

The bartender watched us but didn't make a move to help. Not that I'd expected him to, the guy was already busy enough as it was, So I didn't have to add my problems into the mix.
