Maya's time in space remained unknown. Maya was lifted into the air by an invisible force that suddenly vanished as if its purpose had been fulfilled. She returned to the earth at a very high speed after the energy dissipated, but this time she landed unconscious in an ocean instead of the mountains that were near her village.
She was violently thrown into the water, creating a loud splash. It appeared as though a white, luminous ball or other object had fallen directly into the ocean from the sky. After some time in the water, she awoke.
When Maya realized she was in the water, she first felt confused, then panicked and horrified. She was incredibly perplexed as to how she could be in agony while lying on cold, wet grass the one moment and in the sea-like-looking dark blue cold water the next.
In a state of stress, she made a lot of leg and hand movements while thinking, "Why am I here, exactly? I'm certain I was in the mountains. What is going on? Will I die soon?"
She fought for some time before recognizing that the water was so bright that she could see everything, but because she was panicked, all she could think about was getting out of the water. Her efforts, however, seemed to be a failure.
She was devastated and out of energy, in the end, she let herself loose and let the water drown her since she had lost all hope and thought that this was her final moment.
As she descended farther and more into the sea, she realized that she could breathe. She was confused about what to feel exactly, happy that couldn't die because of drowning, or terrified that how could she even breathe in the water.
"Why are my hands and le-? Why is my entire body blazing white?" She gasped.
"Oh…! It's twilight outside, so perhaps the water is the source of this." She tried to come up with reasons for why something must be wrong with her despite the fact that she was aware that this was not normal and ordinary.
She was really glowing white, but why? How did she stay breathing underwater? She became certain that she is not the same Maya as she once was as a result of her questions. There must have been a really serious error made that cannot be undone.
She made the decision to figure everything out, when she will emerge from the water.
Despite having little to no swimming ability, she did her best to swim. She tried and tried till it eventually worked, and she was thrilled to touch the water's surface.
She raised her head from the water to see that there was no land in sight, not even a long way off. The moonlight hitting her face made her more glow, but she ignored it because her priority is to find land where she processed everything in her brain.
For a very long time, she swam in search of land. She eventually found the lush beautiful land that seemed like an island, and she made the decision to go there.
She struggled for so long, but in the end, she succeeded. She felt something flying behind her as she took her first step onto the land, so she swiftly turned her face back to discover that it was only her hair floating in the air.
Her hair was naturally long as a human, reaching her tailbone, but these new strands were much longer, over 6 feet long, and they emitted a white glow.
Maya asked to herself with her eyes wide open, "How on Earth is this possible? What kind of monster am I becoming?
She pushed herself down onto the beach. "What next, Maya? She yelled. How will you move forward? You cannot survive as your reliant self on your own." She screamed at the top of her lungs while tears were running down her face, continuously.
She had no more energy at all. She was unclear about what to do or how to go on her own at this point. Since she now understood that she looked odd, like some kind of beast.
She had her family with her at all times. She was never left alone by her family. Since she was a little child, she had lived with her sister; during the course of her 18 years, she had only been alone once.
She was very distraught that she was no longer even with her Rani.
She felt something crawling on her skin as she laid down on the shore motionless and out of energy, seeing her hair floating right above her face, shining and shimmering in the moonlight, and thought about how much she had regretted going up the mountain alone.
"I'm still alive. You can devour me or crawl on me after I die "She said while motionlessly glaring at the moon.
She sat up to see what the insect was because it was still crawling on her arm and making her feel tickled. As she saw it, she leaped in fright, stopped crying, and then became horrified.
What she perceived was a strange object, a creature, rather than an insect at all.
When she moved her head in close proximity to the object, she noticed that there were several little things, rather than just one, roughly the size of a thumb.
They were scurrying around like there was some sort of mayhem going on. She picked hesitantly one of them and brought her hand close to her face to see them clearly.
She was pleasantly amazed by what she just witnessed. A tiny creature with tiny hands and legs that resembled a water drop in appearance.
"What are you, tiny things? It seems like you have a lively personality," Maya added as she saw them giggling, her heart feeling a little lighter.
They somehow helped Maya feel less useless and miserable. Since seeing them, she began to realize that she had to find a way out of this predicament, learn how to live independently for a while, and survive in order to return to her family, who had to be waiting for her at home.
"How do I enter the inside of this forest? It seems ominous..." She thought as she saw now observed the forest behind her that was dark and scary looking.
"No! Maya, you must act now or else you will die here alone, and you can't let that happen, can you?" She said with determination to herself.
She was astounded by the high levels of motivation she felt. But she was unaware that these little creatures were the cause of it.
