Midnight walk

The next morning, everyone thought it would be a good day for Maya, but little did they know, something unexpected was about to happen. Jaebin, Daehyun, and Minho decided to take the criminal back to the village and stock up on supplies.

Jaebin slipped on his jacket and asked Maya, "What do you want? I'll get it for you."

Maya cutely replied, "Hmm, I don't know... Oh! I need toothpaste and a Choco Bar packet."

Everyone couldn't help but smile at her innocence.

"Alright, let's go, boys," Jaebin said, helping the serial killer to his feet.

As they left, Daehyun waved to the girls and said, "Take care of each other. We'll be back soon!"

Jeana responded sarcastically, "Thanks, mom."

Maya, oblivious to the tension, asked Jaena, "Why do you two always fight?"

Jaena was taken aback and asked, "Who told you that?"

Maya looked over at Seola, who pretended not to notice. Jaena knew exactly who had spilled the beans and shot Seola a glare, trying not to laugh.

"He always starts fights and never listens to me. He forgets everything I tell him and teases me constantly," Jaena complained.

Seola and Maya couldn't help but burst out laughing at Jaena's rant.

As Jeana noticed Maya's mocking laugh, she decided to tease her about the previous night.

"By the way, how was your walk last night?" she asked with a smirk.

Maya froze upon hearing the question. "Walk? What walk?" she stammered, trying to process what Jeana was referring to.

Jeana pressed on, "You know, the one you went on with Jaebin last night. I heard you guys laughing."

Maya felt a lump in her throat as she reluctantly replied, "Oh! That walk. It was nothing, just talk about the weather, really."

Jeana raised an eyebrow suspiciously and said, "Nothing? You guys were walking in the woods at midnight and talking about the weather? That sounds pretty romantic to me."

Maya's heart sank as she thought about the conversation she had with Jaebin the previous night. She wanted to share it with Jeana but couldn't find the words. "I don't know what to say," she said with a shrug.

Jeana, undeterred, suggested they play a game. "Let's tell each other our secrets. I'll go first," she said, grabbing Maya's hand.

But before they could start, Seola interrupted. "I'm not interested in this game. You two can play by yourselves," she said before turning and walking inside.

Maya looked at Jeana, confused. "Is she mad at us?"

Jeana shook her head, "No, that's just Seola. She's always so reserved and serious. Sometimes I wonder if she's possessed by a 60-year-old spirit."

Jaena glanced at Maya with a mischievous smile. "You look good in braids, Maya. I'll make you look like a warrior princess."

Maya raised an eyebrow. "I don't think that's a good idea, Jaena. My hair can be unpredictable."

Jaena shrugged. "I'm up for the challenge. Let's see what we can do."

Maya sighed, but she couldn't help but smile at Jaena's enthusiasm. As Jaena started brushing her hair, Maya felt her muscles relax. It was a nice feeling, having someone else take care of her for a change.

But then, disaster struck. Jaena stepped on a loose strand of Maya's hair, and Jaena let out a scream that could wake up the dead. Seola rushed to their side, trying to suppress a laugh.

Maya couldn't help but laugh too. "Are you okay, Jaena?"

Jaena sat up, still rubbing her waist. "You and your hair are out to get me, Maya."

Seola chimed in. "It's like you're possessed by a six-year-old child."

Maya chuckled. "I think that's a fair assessment."

Despite the mishap, the three friends continued to laugh and joke around, forgetting about the game they were supposed to be playing. It was nice to just relax and enjoy each other's company.

The day started with a criminal on the loose and going with Jaena on the ground, but Maya couldn't help but feel a sense of love and humor in the air. As they waited for the boys to return, they laughed and joked like old friends, reminiscing about past fights and the time Jaena tried to braid Maya's hair.

"Maybe we should start a hair

salon," Jaena joked as she stood up and brushed the dirt off her jeans.

"Or not, I don't think I can handle the hair violence."

Seola rolled her eyes and smiled at Maya, "Don't mind her, she's just jealous of your luscious locks."

As they were all laughing and joking, they suddenly heard a loud crash outside. They rushed to the door and saw that the criminal they had left with Jaebin, Daehyun, and Minho had escaped and was now running towards their house. Maya's heart raced as she realized that they were in danger.

But before she could even think of a plan, Seola stepped forward with a serious expression on her face. "Don't worry, I got this," she said confidently.

Maya watched in amazement as Seola ran towards the criminal with lightning speed and landed a powerful kick on his back. He stumbled and fell to the ground, and Seola quickly knocked him out and then dragged him back to the police.

The rest of the group stood in shock as they watched Seola, who they always thought was the quiet and reserved one, take down the criminal like a superhero.

As they all hugged and congratulated Seola, Jaena turned to Maya and whispered, "Looks like we're not the only ones possessed by some sort of spirit. Seola has a ninja spirit in her."

Daehyun, Jaebin, and Minho entered the police station, the weight of the responsibility heavy on their shoulders. The killer they caught was sitting in a chair, restrained by handcuffs, staring at them with cold eyes.

"Excuse me, officer," Daehyun stepped forward, his voice clear and confident. "We caught this man last night, and we strongly believe he's the serial killer who has been terrorizing our village."

The officer raised an eyebrow, unimpressed. "And what proof do you have of that?"

Minho cleared his throat. "He attacked us in the forest, sir. He was armed and said he wanted to kill us like the others. We defended ourselves, and he shot both of us."

The officer's expression didn't change. "Do you have any injuries to show for it? Any witnesses?"

Daehyun's confidence wavered for a moment. "Well, no, we don't. But we did find his rifle, and he had it on him when we caught him."

The officer shook his head. "I'm sorry, but that's not enough. We can't just take your word for it. And, as far as we know, there is no serial killer in this village. The person responsible for the murders is a White Witch, and she's been dealt with."

Daehyun, Jaebin, and Minho exchanged a look of disbelief. They had risked their lives to catch this man, and now it seemed like all their efforts were in vain.

"Can't you at least investigate him?" Jaebin spoke up, desperation creeping into her voice. "He was armed and dangerous, and we had to subdue him. He's not just some innocent man."

The officer sighed, clearly annoyed. "I understand your concern, but without any concrete evidence, there's nothing we can do. I'm sorry, but I have to release him."

The three friends left the police station, feeling defeated and frustrated. They had done everything they could, but it seemed like justice was out of their hands. As they walked down the street, they saw the killer being set free, and they knew that he would be out there, somewhere, waiting to strike again.

"We can't just let him go," Minho said, his jaw clenched. "We have to find a way to prove that he's guilty."

Daehyun nodded, determination in his eyes. "You're right. We can't give up now. We'll find a way to bring him to justice, no matter what it takes."

And with that, they set off, their minds racing with plans and strategies to catch the killer and prove his guilt, no matter what obstacles they might face.
