Chapter 42

MARCOS

I'm really worried about Gabriela. I never seen her this angry and bad in my life, because I know she's bad. Alex walked from one place to another. He wanted to go after Gabriela, but it's something he shouldn't do at this moment, she would explode against anyone.

"We shouldn't have left her alone. She's not fine, Marcos." Alex protested "I know, but you saw she doesn't want to be with anyone. "First I have to know what made her so bad, something had to have happened." I said, looking for what could have made Gabriela so angry. "She said something about her siblings, remember? It's the only way to get Gabriela out of her mind like she is right now."

"Do you really think Paula did something to the twins?" I asked, and Carlota shrugged her shoulders. "Being Paula, I don't doubt anything. Also, think a little, Gabriela knows how to control herself when it comes to getting angry, being messed with, and everything that has to do with her. The only thing she can't stand is having her family messed with, and if that bitch did something to the twins, we have to be prepared for disaster, remember what happened last time."

"What are you talking about?" questioned Alex, who I had completely forgotten was here. I didn't want to think Gabriela was going to do something stupid. I don't know what had her like this, or at least so bad, but it had to be something about her siblings and if that's true, we could have a problem, a considerably big one.

This time we wouldn't make the same mistake as the last time, this time we would tell her family, no matter what Gabriela said, more than anything because she took too many stress pills, I don't think it was to end her life or something, that was something Carlota did think about it, but generally the pills took too long to take effect and that was why she had taken so many, we almost had to take her to the emergency room, since then, she didn't used them, which made Carlota calmer in that sense.

"Pills." Carlota nodded. "She hasn't been with them in a while, do you really think she still has them?" I asked, frowning "You said it yourself Marcos, since Paula arrived at college, she seems to be more stressed than normal, do you think she's calm now? Because let me tell you, she isn't, I can assure you."

"Call her house, ask whoever is on that topic, I'll see if I can find her." I said, starting to go towards the car and go in search of my other best friend "CAN SOMEONE TELL ME WHAT'S GOING ON!!!! WHAT PILLS ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?" Alex asked frustrated "First of all don't worry Alex, I'm sure it's going to be fine."

"How can I be calm if you're talking about pills and something that happened to her a long time ago? Do you really want me to calm down when neither of you are?" He asked "We only care about her Alex." I tried, but when I saw he's beyond upset, I knew it isn't the best thing I could have said "I CARE ABOUT HER TOO. FUCK, I'M HER BOYFRIEND!!!!"

"Ok, listen, we're both going to look for her and everything will be settled. I'm sure we can find it between the two of us." I said, "I'll go as soon as I can talk to someone at home," Carlota responded. "We can look for her too."

"It's better for you to stay here in case she appears, I don't want them to see her here being expelled." Carlota said and Sara quickly frowned. "But we can help." She insisted, "I know, and you can do it that way too."

"Ok, let me know when you hear from her." Clara asked and we both nodded. With that, we left college and headed to my car, which was difficult for us, because Alex wanted to search on his own, but I couldn't allow him to drive nervous as he is, it was my obligation as his and Gabriela's friend, because as he If something happened, she would get worse than she already is right now.

"Can you think of where we can find her?" Alex asked. "There are lots of places she can be, but we'll start looking at the places she goes when she's not well." I said, "Now can you explain to me what you and Carlota were referring to about the pills?" He asked, at least not as angry as before, but with obvious concern. "That's something she should tell you."

"I want you to tell me." my best friend boyfriend responded, "About seven years ago, her siblings had problems with some boys at school, and her brother was upset about it. Gabriela found out and went to defend them as she has always done, and after they left him alone, she got upset. At that time her anxiety was bad and they gave her some pills to relax, but apparently it took too long to take effect and she took too many, I remember it were about four, we almost had to take her to the emergency room, she was terrible."

"And why is there so much fuss about those pills now? Above all, from Carlota." He asked, "Because she didn't believe that story at all." I admitted, "What did I think?" He asked, "That she wanted to commit suicide, something Gabriela denied all the time and I believe her, all her life she had problems with anxiety, that got worse as they messed with her more until the doctors made the decision to prescribe her pills. At some point she also had to take antidepressants, but I think those were only for a couple of weeks, but with the stress, she carried her anxiety pills everywhere she went until she promised Carlota, she wouldn't carry them and only take them when she really needs it."

"So do you believe what Gabriela told you she didn't want to do what Carlota thinks?" He questioned and I nodded "Of course, Gabriela would do anything to prevent her family from suffering from anything and she knows well that, if she decides to do something that is a risk to her life, they will have a bad time and she'll do whatever it takes." necessary to prevent them from suffering."

"Then what are you so afraid of?" He asked, "We have never seen her so bad in our lives, that's why." I informed him "Do you think she's going to do something against her own health?" Alex questioned, "No, she won't do that, the problem itself is she'll close in on herself, that's the worst thing that can happen to her right now. What happened to her siblings is affecting her too much."

"They went too far, why would they?" He asked, "I don't know, I just hope it wasn't Paula's fault like Carlota said, because then we're in a hurry to find her as soon as possible." I said, "If that woman has something to do with it, I myself will take care of putting an end to her for everything she's putting Gabriela through."

"You're not going to do anything, first of all we must all calm down. If you can do me a favor, call my brother." I asked and Alex frowned "For what?" He asked, "Right now he's the only one who can understand Gabriela more, in that sense they are equal. He can help us."

It didn't take long for Alex to pick up the phone and dial my brother. He put it on speaker, I think mostly because he had no idea what to say to him, so I decided it's better for me to do the talking.

"Marcos, shouldn't you be in class? Do you know anything about Gabriela?" He asked and something told me he senses something is happening, "That's why I'm calling you. We have problems, big problems Carlos." I informed him "What is happening?" He asked, "Gabriela... we have to find her before she does something stupid."

"What's happening Marcos? Speak clearly." He pressed "You know about her siblings, right?" I asked to find out how much he knew. "Yes, of course, I spoke to María myself a while ago, she seemed worried about Gabriela." He admitted "Did she tell you the reason?" I asked, "Yeah, and I'm trying to call her, but she's not answering."

"What did she tell you?" I asked "That those who had beaten her told Mario, give their regards from someone, she didn't tell me the name, but I hope it's not who I'm thinking right now." He begged and I sighed "Marcos, it was her. It was Paula. We have to find her." Alex said quickly "Alex? What's Marcos doing with you?"

"What are you talking about Alex?" I asked, ignoring my brother's questions. "Before you arrived, Gabriela told her something about it being for her siblings, for what she had done. At that moment I didn't understand it, but now everything makes sense, that's why she hit her, Paula is behind all this."

"Carlos, do me a favor and use that big brother instinct of yours and find her." I asked, "I'll look for her, I plan to find her, don't worry about that." He assured, "Let us know if you find her." I begged, "Ok, same."

Carlos hung up and we headed to the first place where I expected Gabriela to be, but there's no sign of her. We looked for hours, but we couldn't find her and it's already getting dark and running out of ideas of where Gabriela could be. Her parents had called me a couple of times, but I didn't answer them, I didn't want to tell them I had no idea where their daughter is, I don't want them to have a hard time right now, they must already be having a hard time with what happened to the twins.
