Chapter 55

GABRIELA

I don't know what to think about what Carlota had just told me about them, it's complicated for me, but I also know she wouldn't lie to me. The only thing I'm sure of is I'll teach my siblings self-defense and Ana, I'm not going to let what happened last week happen, even if I was dead.

When we arrived there were only the boys which is lucky for me because first of all, I don't know how I'm going to react and second, I'm sure Carlota wouldn't be able to bear to say something to them.

"MOMMY." Ana squealed the moment she saw me, "Hello princess." I took her in my arms because she would have fall and I didn't want that to happen, at least I could be a little calmer because apparently her knee didn't hurt, almost nothing could be said.

"Guys, today we're all going to Gabriela's house." Carlota said excitedly. "And what is due to?" Marcos asked confused and right now I'm confused too "Yeah Carlota, can you explain it to me?"

"Don't be angry, Gabriela, but the more people who sign up, the better it will be, and that way Marcos will be able to learn something. Oh, are you going to tell me that's not a good idea?" She asked, laughing. "I don't understand anything you're talking about."

"Gabriela decided to teach self-defense her siblings and your sister." Carlota reported, "That seems like a great idea to be honest, I don't know why you didn't teach them before." Marcos said, denying "Because before there was no need, now there is."

"Ok, that makes sense too." Marcos responded, nodding, "Yes, plus you'll be able to watch me and Gabriela play for a while." Carlota said with a big smile on her face. "Play what?" I asked confused, "Come on Gabriela, it's been a while since we've had one of those fights between us. "It would be nice to know who's rustier, don't you think?"

"Yes, it's been a while since we fought like we did at the academy." I said, agreeing with her, "Well, Carlota, let me tell you I think you'll lose." Marcos responded, laughing, "I don't think so, Marcos, we were always evenly matched, you could say she beat me most of the time."

"That's a lie Gabriela, we were fifty-fifty." Carlota protested. "Whatever you want, but I'm sure this time you'll win," I assured. "Oh, believe me, I will, I won't let you beat me." She responded with a laugh, "This sounds good."

"Do you also want to participate, Marcos? If you want, I can start with you and save my victory against Gabriela for last." Carlota said, laughing once she saw Marcos's face. "No, I think I'll pass this time."

"Mommy, but aren't fights bad?" Ana asked in my arms and I nodded "Yes, princess, but it's not going to be a real fight, it's going to be one of those games you and I play or the ones you play with your brothers."

"Then I can play too?" She asked excitedly, "No, you're still a little girl." I responded "But I also want to learn to fight, what happens if they mess with me again?" She asked and I denied, because it's something I wouldn't allow to happen again. "I won't let that happen, I'll teach you later what you have to do so they don't mess with you, ok?"

"Ok" With that it seemed she became calmer and I could see in Marcos's face he didn't understand anything of what his sister said, to which I denied him and smiled so he would remain calm.

We had been talking for a couple of minutes and I had no idea where Alex is, and at one point I heard Ana laugh softly. "What's funny Ana?" I asked curiously, "Nothing, I just remembered Marcos's face when you scolded him for taking my candy."

I started laughing with her, because the look on her brother face was actually quite funny, but I soon stopped laughing because arms I knew well hugged me from behind and she ended up leaving her head on my shoulder.

"Did you miss me beautiful?" Alex's voice asked behind me. "Maybe, but I had this little girl." I reported even though I missed him, "Ana, am I going to have to worry about you taking all of my girlfriend's affection away from me?" He asked faking a hurt tone, but I know it wasn't real. "No."

"So, you don't love me? Even a little? I thought we made peace." Alex protested and I'm confused. "I do love you, but I love Gabriela more, she is my mom." Ana insisted "Then she loves you more than me. I'm going to cry."

"Don't cry, she loves you too. You yourself told me she loves us both very much, but in different ways." Ana protested, "You remember what I told you, huh?" He responded, with a smile on his face, "Of course. That's why I like you better."

"Gabriela, do you know what these two are talking about?" Marcos asked next to me and I denied "I don't have the slightest idea. What are you talking about, princess?" I asked curiously "It's a secret."

"Can't you tell me what he told you?" I asked, even more confused. "No, I told him, and he's not going to tell you, right?" The little girl asked, focusing her gaze on my boyfriend. "Good boy's word." He responded, raising his hand to the level of his chest. "You would like to be as good as you want to appear."

"Yes, he's good, Aunt Carlota." Ana responded and Carlota laughed. "Am I your aunt now?" She asked, "I would like that." The girl answered, "Well then, I'm your Aunt Carlota, princess."

"Besides, I have to agree with Ana, Alex is good." I reported, "You say that because you are in love with him and you only see good things in him, but everyone has their bad side, not you and Ana." Carlota laughed. "You're exaggerating, you and Alex aren't family by any chance, right?"

"No, why?" My best friend asked, confused. "Because she also calls me exaggerated, that's why she's probably telling you." Alex said, laughing and hugging me by the hip again. "Well, no, we're not, although that would suit me right now because we would be family in a sense."

"We already are now, especially if you want me to be your children's aunt." I responded remembering the conversation from before "That's not possible Gabriela, she would be too childish to have children." Marcos responded, laughing, "Well, she would be a great mother, Marcos."

"Thank you, Gabriela, at least I know I have one of my children's uncles." She answered, feigning annoyance at what Marcos had just said, even though we both knew she wasn't being serious, "Of course, forever and you know it."

"See, she's a good friend, not like you, Marcos." Carlota said, showing her tongue at him, "You know that deep down you adore me." Marcos responded, laughing, "Point for Marcos." Alex whispered in my ear, but Carlota had heard him. "You shut up if you don't want me to hit you with this fist."

"If you think I will let you do that to him, you're very wrong, Carlota." I informed her, "Well, you can thank Gabriela and for being her boyfriend, because I would hit you, and you know it." She assured and my boyfriend nodded, "I know."

"Maybe I'll give it to you for saying stupid things." I responded to my best friend, "You're not going to do it and you know it." Carlota said, "If I were you, I wouldn't tempt her, Carlota, you know she will." Marcos answered, laughing, "Ana is here, believe me, she won't do it." She said totally convinced and I couldn't help but smile.

"Love, can you hold Ana for a moment?" I asked and he separated from me "Delighted, beautiful." He said, with a big smile on his face, "Mom, what are you going to do to Aunt Carlota?" Ana asked "I'm going to give her a hug princess, don't worry about her."

"Don't pay attention to her, she's not going to do it." Carlota said, leaving my side quickly. "Yes, I'm going to do it, don't be afraid." I assured even though I was only messing with her, "If I were you, I wouldn't trust Carlota, we know what Gabriela is like." Marcos said, playing along.

"Well, that's why I say." She responded, hiding behind him, "Hey guys, don't talk like that about my beautiful queen, because if she says she's not going to do anything, she's not going to do anything." Alex protested behind me, "You say that because she doesn't do anything to you."

"Maybe, but I promise it won't do anything to you." My boyfriend assured "And do you really think I'll trust your word alone? That she will stop because you say so? Let me tell you, I don't believe it." Carlota reported, looking over Marcos's shoulder. "How little trust you have in me."

"You know I trust you more than anything beautiful." Alex insisted, "Me too, mommy." Ana supported "They have known me for less time and trust me more than you, I should feel offended or something."

"That's because they have no idea what you're really like while we do." Marcos responded, "Hey, I've known mommy forever." Ana protested, "But it's not the same." Marcos said "Why?" the little girl questioned, "Yeah, why Marcos?" I pressed even though I know what she's referring to. "Because I've known you all my life, which is saying a lot, and she's only known you for six years."

"A lifetime, just like you." I reported "I'm sorry Marcos, but I'm with Gabriela, you can tell she known her for as long as you, even though you're not the same age." Carlota supported "Even on top of that, I come to defend you and you turn your back on me?"

"I'm sorry, and I appreciate you doing it, but it's the truth." She responded, shrugging her shoulders, "I won't defend you from Gabriela again, I'm serious." At that moment I noticed Carlota became tense looking at some point behind us, which made me turn around and see Sara and her sister behind us.

"Hey guys, why are you arguing now?" Sara asked, with a big smile on her face. "That's none of your business." It didn't take me long to get to Carlota to stand next to her with one hand on her back. I don't think that would have much effect on her to shut up, but I hoped she would do something. Of course, Marcos and Alex looked at her strangely.

"Is something wrong with you, Carlota?" she asked and I denied before she could say anything else. "There's nothing wrong with her, she's just stressed, so we're going for a walk." I said, taking Carlota by the arm and dragging her with me. "But it's not long before break ends, don't you have classes?"

"Of course I have them, but I'm not going, I prefer to be far away…" she began and I put my hand over her mouth to stop her from saying things. "And we're leaving right now before you say anything about what you're going to repent."

I pushed her and we started walking in the direction we had come from a while ago. Ana didn't take long to get out of Alex's arms and came to my side, looking at Carlota with a frown, I'm sure he wouldn't understand anything. Marcos and Alex stared at us until they caught their attention.

Right now, we're in the park where Alex and I had been with Ana before. It didn't take long for her to go play, leaving me and Carlota alone. "Really, if I see them again, I'll kill them with my own hands. "THEY CAN'T BE SO FUCKING BITCHES." Carlota shouted the last thing "Calm down Carlota, please don't make a scene in front of Ana. I don't want Marcos to find out."

"MARCOS HAS TO KNOW. WE CANNOT ALLOW THAT HARPY TO HURT YOU GABRIELA." She said frustrated, "I know, and we won't allow it, I promise, but if we tell him now, it will destroy him or he won't believe us." I assured, "Of course he'll believe us, we wouldn't lie to you about those things."

"I know, but he's too in love with Clara that you can believe me when I tell you he won't believe anything we tell him." I said "If that happens, I'll kill him too, he can't be so blind." My best friend protested and I denied, "We were all blind by not seeing them, I still can't believe it." I said the last thing more to myself than to her, "Well, you can believe it because it's true, cover your back Gabriela because the problems have only just begun."
