Animals usually had an evolutionary fear against anything that was bigger than them. This was both in size and number.

It was for this reason that lions and other Predators of the wild, usually hunted creatures that were left behind in a herd.

The moment that a Creature was seen exempting themselves from the pack, they became easy picking.
