After a moment of being surprised, all of the S Rankers immediately pulled out their weapons and aimed it at the black cloaked figure.

Alex immediately stood up and with Alexei, the two of them stood in front of Maria to protect her.

Seeing all of this, the black cloaked figure didn't do anything and just casually stood there as if they weren't afraid of anything.

The S Rankers couldn't help feeling unsettled when they saw this, but no one dared to make a rash move.

There was a long moment of silence that hung in the air of the cafe.

Finally, it was Maria that broke the silence by saying, "Everyone, let's calm down and listen to what they have to say."

Everyone looked at her with surprised looks since they never expected her to say something like this.

But Maria didn't care about any of this as she looked at the black cloaked figure with a patient look on her face.

Since Maria had already spoken, there was nothing else that they could do.

After all, in this store, Maria's words were law.

Even if they were all powerful S Rankers, they still had to follow the rules of this store or else there was the chance that they would be banned from eating here…Not that it had ever happened before since all problems had been taken care of before anything could develop.

If they were banned from eating here…it would be a big blow to them.

Everyone knew how special Maria's food was and they could feel their powers increasing from eating it. If they were suddenly cut off from it, it would be like a drug addict being suddenly cut off.

They wouldn't be able to take it and would do something…crazy.

That would be the end of them in this human society since every single S Ranker would unite to take them down.

So no matter what, everyone knew that they couldn't get on Maria's bad side.

But they didn't let their guards down as they looked at this black cloaked figure.

It wasn't hard for them to figure out who this black cloaked figure really was based on their aura and the fact that they had snuck up on all of these S Rankers.

There was only one identity that someone with these skills could have.

The Assassin King, Wu Qing.

The one that was here to kill Alex.

So while there were some that moved over to protect Maria just in case anything happened, there were also some that moved over to protect Alex.

Including Alexei who had been arguing the most with him.

While they were rivals in love, he had to admit that Alex was one of his closest friends. He was a friend that he could argue with and fight over Maria with, so they were actually closer than normal friends.

He was that friend that you loved and hated at the same time because no matter what, you would always end up fighting, but they would never stay mad at each other.

The black cloaked figure didn't mind all of this and just stood there in place.

After a long moment of silence, the black cloaked figure reached behind themself and pulled out a large envelope that they placed on the table before saying, "I'll leave this here for you all. This is the truth behind the assassination case. You'll understand after you read it."

Then they turned without giving anyone a chance to say anything and said, "I'll go grab the person responsible right now."

Once again, before anyone could even say anything, the black cloaked figure disappeared on the spot. They didn't leave a single trace as they disappeared, not even a sound was made.

They just left behind the envelope that they had placed on a nearby table.

Once again, there was a long period of silence before everyone was able to react.

Then before anyone could do anything, Maria started moving forward towards that table.

Everyone just stared at her in a daze for a second before suddenly reacting and standing in front of her, blocking her way to the envelope.

She pouted her lips and said, "What's wrong? Didn't they leave the envelope here for us to read? So what's wrong with me reading it?"

All of the S Rankers had bitter smiles on their faces.

She was just too trusting of people…

None of them knew if what the black cloaked figure had said was even true, so there was still a chance that the envelope was a trap. If they let Maria go first and she were caught up in it, they wouldn't be able to live with themselves.

But it was really hard for them to stop her.

"Please, just wait and let us take a look first!"

Maria wouldn't stop as she said, "I'll look at it so that you don't need to worry! Stop pulling on me!"

They didn't understand why Maria was so determined to look at this envelope, they just knew that they had to stop her.

Of course, Maria had her own reasons for this…

But since the other side wasn't willing to reveal themselves just yet, she couldn't reveal it either.

The only thing that she could do for them was to do all she could to show that they were trustworthy. Which meant…

Finally, the S Rankers were able to stop her by throwing themselves on the ground and begging her not to do it. There were even some that grabbed at her leg to stop her from moving forward.

It really was a strange scene that made people feel worried about her, the girl being surrounded at this time.

If she had a cold heart, she would have found it hard to keep saying no to these people begging her to stop. Not to mention a kind hearted person like her who couldn't stand to see people acting this way.

So she said with a difficult look on her face, "Alright, alright, I won't go forward. Can you all please stop doing this?"

The S Rankers didn't know if she was being serious or if she was trying to trick them, so they wouldn't get up that easily.

The ones that were grabbing her legs held on even tighter without any intentions of letting go.

If anyone had walked in at this time and saw all these people surrounding this one girl…they would have immediately pulled out their phone and called the police because this was certainly a scene that caused a lot of concern.

However, that would never happen since normal people couldn't enter this cafe in the first place. The S Rankers made sure of that by having their subordinates surround the area and redirect the people that weren't on the allowed list away.

While these people were holding up Maria, the S Rankers with defensive skills activated them all as they started moving towards the envelope left there.

All of them had their defensive skills released on max just in case there was a trap, but they were all disappointed in the end as there was nothing there.

The only thing that they found was that this was a normal envelope that didn't have any traces of magic on it. There were no traces of poison or anything else that could kill secretly either.

Maria saw the disappointed looks on their faces and couldn't help shaking her head before saying, "Why don't you look at what's inside?"

This voice brought them out of their disappointment and with awkward smiles, they opened up the envelope.

They found that there was a pile of papers inside which they took out.

The moment that they saw what was written on these papers, they couldn't help knitting their brows. They all immediately passed the papers out amongst themselves and started carefully looking over what was written on it.

The first thing that they had seen was a picture.

It was a picture of someone that they all recognized forging the calling card that Alex had received.

As for the person that was in the picture, it was the former financial minister of the United Kingdom.

This was a person that had their embezzlement actions exposed by Alex and had been removed from office. He had done it in a very public manner, so this minister hadn't been able to recover and had been declared missing.

But it seemed like he clearly still held a grudge.

He had seized the chance of Alex leaving the royal family to come up with this scheme, but he never would have expected that the person he was counting on would go against him.

He had indeed made a request to the person that normally made contact with the Assassin King, Wu Qing, but he hadn't received a reply. He had even offered all of the money that he had made in his years of embezzling, an amount that was more than enough for a normal person to live several lifetimes on.

However, even then he still didn't receive a reply.

So with no other choice, he could only take drastic measures.

These "drastic measures" was him forging the calling card of Wu Qing and sending it to Alex on his own.

That way, he would force Wu Qing to take his commission or it would be disgracing his name as the Assassin King.

As for if Wu Qing would take revenge on him later or not, he was already prepared for this.

He had been consumed by his hatred for Alex and he didn't care what price he had to pay if he could take him down.

But what he never expected was that Wu Qing didn't care about their reputation at all.
