Unknown location. 1:00 am
Unknown POV.
The dark room was lit by two candles, which enabled me to see my reflection… puzzling over how I met and departed from Drake.
"Arghh!… I'm so fucking stressed out!" I exclaimed out loud, as I sat upright. Everything seems so… tiring.
My life was supposed to go well… how did it end up this way; I thought, trying to sort out my feelings.
With my mind drifting toward Gabriel, my good-for-nothing guardian. How in the world could the galaxy choose someone who is four years older than me to be my guardian?
I was actually thrilled by the fact, Gabriel has been my best friend for ages now ever since we were kids, he had always cared for and protected me. But… It just feels strange.
Someone I've known for my entire life… not really my entire life, since I didn't know him from birth… though it's still almost my entire life.
Fuck! I'm so confused, why does everything have to be complicated? Drake is the cause of all this mess… he's the best scapegoat.
It all started when everything was revealed. I don't want to remember… but it can't be helped.
Ever since I found out… more like we found out that Drake was from the demon empire and that he was sent to kill me, Gabriel had been asked by the galaxy Aka the Golden Circle to protect me as one of the guardians of the Galaxy.
He had been so perfect and skilled enough to protect me. I'm not really the obedient type, I hate staying in one location.
Despite all my shortcomings, he still managed to keep me from any threat, which I kind of appreciate. Even though the Galaxy thinks otherwise, I still see him as a friend.
As I went through my thought I heard a loud thud behind me, knowing who it was I didn't bother to turn…
"What do you think you are doing looking at yourself in the mirror by this time of the night?" Gabriel asked with a glint of mockery in his eyes. As expected; looking for trouble, with any little chance he gets.
"And what do you think you are doing here, entering a lady's room at night?" I snapped back at him, with a smug grin plastered on my face.
"Hehehe, Doing the guardi stuff… I guess?" I added chuckling, not giving him the chance to reply to my first statement.
"*Grin* Well… doing my job as you said, you know… Watching over you sulks," he said with a wild grin, shrugging at his statement.
This coward, can't he just accept defeat? Well, not like it matters… I still got a hidden card up my sleeve.
"Oh, I see. Why don't you tell the Galaxy that, or should I help you?" I said, almost getting up from the bed.
This time Gabriel had a pleading look. "No, you won't!" He said, moving to block my possible exit.
Now I'm loving this game, ending it here would be no fun… I'll have to make him kneel; I thought, almost completing my actions.
"Anyway, have you spoken to your mom?" He said in a serious tone. I know his plan, but… After hearing his words, I could not summon the strength to rise.
The thought of my mom sickened me. My mom was the troublesome type, always calling to inquire about every single thing… even the color of my undies.
She was the type of woman that left men astonished. Not surprised people praise me… I took her looks.
Gabriel always told me I'm a narcissist, though I'm not one… I won't undermine myself. I'm one of the most beautiful females in existence.
"Mmmmh, don't tell me you are doing that again?" He inquired, giving me a weird look.
Fuck! I know I get lost in thoughts of how beautiful I am… this mongrel has to point it out, all the time…
"Not really, but I will… by morning," I said, diverting the topic. I don't plan on hearing his thoughts on my habits.
"Okay, make sure you do… don't get her worried," he said in a teasing tone, giving me a wink. He hasn't changed, still playful.
"So why the sudden visit?" I asked curiously. Though he's my guardian, he doesn't show up by this time, and he always laments about my room being an unbearable place to sleep.
"Do you know about the meeting?" He inquired, pocketing his hands and raising one foot to rest on the wall.
I couldn't help but roll my eyes over his stance. Guys these days claim that standing like this is stylish… never knew he'll join them.
Bringing me out of my thought was the sound of Gabriel's voice. "Ahem, are you gone?" He said in a teasing tone.
Here we go again. "No!" I replied, sounding annoyed and rude. Guys tend to fall for the act.
"Which question is that for?" He said, not minding my mood. They are still stone-hearted men like him who don't fall easily.
"Both!" I replied in the same tone. Maybe he didn't catch my vibes.
I guess not. "Okay, now you know… prepare," he said, pulling his hands from his pocket.
From his actions, I could guess that he was about to leave. He can't go like that.
"Wait!" I said in an alarming tone, causing him to turn immediately.
