Chapter 127: Vision of the Past, part 2
Her vision came back and realized that she was still floating in the sky.
"So, I'm still in this place… let's see…whoa!" She exclaimed.
Above the beach where the Lunarians had previously landed, was now a floating structure. It was around the same size as the floating castle that was still hovering over the city, but this one could not be called a castle, it was a lot more futuristic looking. It had the same style as the Lunarian's spaceship. This was obviously their home now.
The city had also changed. There were a lot of tall buildings and the people were traveling around the streets, using some sort of mechanical vehicles.
"Wow, they had advanced a lot!. I wonder how much time has passed."
Her attention then shifted to the floating castle. There were a lot of people gathered in that place, so she went to take a look.
In the main garden of the castle, there seems to be some sort of celebration.
The tall lunarian who she saw previously was on a stage, in front of a lot of important-looking people.
"Huh? It's a different one."
The one with the regal clothes and scepter was now a different person. It was a man around his 40s with a mustache and a kind smile.
"I guess the old man passed away, this must be the next ruler."
The new king shook the hand of the lunarian leader and made a gesture of "go ahead".
"Looks like some sort of presentation. I wonder what the Lunarians have created now."
The lunarian assistants removed some big cloth that covered a big device.
It looked like a console to control something. It had a lot of buttons and levers. It also had a big screen in the middle.
"This looks like one of those primitive computers used back in the 60s that were used by the military. I can't believe how advanced this society has become!"
The lunarian leader walked to the console and started to operate it while everyone watched with interest.
A flash of light forced Vivi to turn her attention somewhere else.
A big fire appeared at the back of the Lunarians flying structure and something started to fly up.
"Did they make another spaceship?"
She hurried closer to the flying device to take a better look before it went too far away.
The flying object was spherical in shape. It had some rod-shaped devices attached to it that served as a propulsion system.
The sphere did not look like a spaceship at all. It had no windows and was too small for a crew to be traveling inside.
"Uh?. There is something written on the side…"
She managed to catch a glimpse of the text right before the sphere flew away.
"Uranus-I…"
Her vision went dark again.
When it was back, she was not floating anymore. She was standing on the ground, but, since the grass was still green and there were no ugly black rocks everywhere, it was safe to say that she was still in the past.
She was close to the base of the giant tree and there were a lot of people around, both humans and Lunarians.
"A festival maybe?"
That was her first thought, but it became immediately apparent that this was not the case.
The Lunarians and humans who were in front of the tree were separated into two clear groups and were in conflict with each other.
She recognize the King from before, but now he looked very old. Next to him was a young pretty girl with blond hair and emerald eyes.
"Probably his granddaughter" Vivi concluded.
On the Lunarians' side, she did recognize the tallest one who seem to be their leader. He hasn't really changed much after so much time has passed.
"They must have a very long life spawn," she concluded.
Behind him were an adult female and a very young girl. The adult female was holding the hand of the little girl and kept looking at the man in front of her with worry.
"Wife and daughter maybe?" She had to guess.
They seem to be yelling at each other and the lunarian leader keeps pointing to the tree.
"Wait…he is not pointing at the tree. There is something there!"
At the spot where the lunarian was pointing, was a low-hanging branch, and connected to that branch was a very strange-looking fruit. It was shaped like an apple, the skin was pristine white, almost shining, and there were black marks over its surface, forming some chaotic patterns.
"It kinda looks like a devil fruit…"
By the body language, she was seeing. It looked like the Lunarians wanted that fruit, especially their leader. The wife looked a bit conflicted about the situation and the daughter held an impassive gaze directed at the humans.
The human King looked very angry and so did everyone else in the clearing, including that pretty young girl with blonde hair. She looked particularly enraged and did not take her eyes off the lunarian leader.
"This is not going to end well…"
Everything went dark again…and when her sight returned, Vivi was welcomed by a dreadful spectacle.
The island was on fire. Lunarians were flying around, burning everything while the humans fought back using some weapons that Vivi was not familiar with.
The place was in absolute chaos.
Some humans were riding metal vehicles while others were flying on top of those golden birds.
The Lunarians were completely outnumbered but their power was much greater.
The city was partially destroyed and the small town was covered in flames.
Vivi scanned the battlefield, looking for some familiar faces, and soon found some.
The Lunarian leader was laying on the ground, clutching his belly. He seems to be gravely wounded.
Close to him was the young blond girl with green eyes that Vivi assumed was the granddaughter of the King.
She was holding some sort of firearm in her hands.
