Chapter 255: The Death of ****

Everything went white.

"What's this?!, I can't see anything!" the marines shouted.

"Remain calm!. This is his awakening. It starts with a flash of light that covers an entire area, your vision should recover soon." Explained Fujitora

"At least that's what I have been told." he felt the need to add. As far as he was concerned, the only real difference was the increase in temperature in the air.

"Vivi, get out of there!" Yelled Nami.

Vivi felt like she was in front of the sun. The temperature surrounding Kizaru had risen several hundred degrees and the light coming out of him was completely blinding her.

Her transformation ended and she had a hard time breathing.

'My lungs are on fire! I need…I need to get away from….I need.'

Her mind felt sluggish and it was becoming more difficult to get her thoughts in order.

"I can't see anything!"

She felt completely disoriented, not sure which direction she was moving towards.

It was just then when she heard the sound of water splashing.

'Waves!, I'm getting closer to the sea.'

"Do you have any last words?, I'll give you that at least." The voice of Kizaru came from behind her.

The blinding light dissipated a little bit, allowing her to regain some of her vision back.

Instead of one solid mass of light, there were now millions of small bright spheres floating everywhere.

She turned around. She was not able to see much. The light was still blinding but she was able to discern a black shadow surrounded by white background.

"I…I…Im…" She could not form words anymore. Not sure if it was the extreme heat of her exhaustion but her mind was unable to function properly.

'I'm tired…I want to sleep.'

That is what she was trying to say.

"So be it…no last words." Said Kizaru with a cold voice.

"Oh no…this is what I was worried about," Fujitora said.

"What is it, Admiral? we still can't see much of what is going on." Said the Marine Captain.

"He is going to kill her." Said Fujitora to the Captain.

"What?!, nooo! Vivi!" Cried Nami.

Fujitora moved as fast as he could, he had to stop him.

Kizaru had manifested a sphere made of pure light in front of Vivi.

"Stop, Borsalino!. We need her alive!" Fujitora shouted, trying to get his comrade to see some sense as he realized he wasn't going to make it in time.

Kizaru ignored the other man. With a flick of his finger, the sphere moved forward, burning down everything in its patch, like a miniature sun.

Vivi was not even able to react as the mass of light reached her. Her body disintegrated into molecules of water and disappeared. Leaving nothing behind, not a trace, and nothing to regenerate.

The miniature sun flew up into the sky until it disappeared.

The bright particles of light that were covering the air also disappeared as soon as Kizaru ended his awakening.

The Admiral dropped to one knee and adjusted his sunglasses. He was panting and had beads of sweat falling across his face.

"I'm getting old for the job…I feel so tired."

"Why did you do it? why did you kill her?!" Fujitora screamed at him. His voice filled with anger and disgust.

Kizaru stood up and patted the sand from his trousers.

"She was never going to come with us peacefully. Restraining her was not an option."

"You could have asked me for help! I let you fight her alone because I knew your ego would demand it. But between the two of us-"

"She was too dangerous!" Kizaru interrupted him.

"Too dangerous to leave alive!... Issho, you are still new to the Marines, but I have been fighting pirates for decades. The last oponent that pushed me this much went on to become the right hand of the Pirate King…no...not again. The Strawhats cannot be allowed to go free on their journey."

Fujitora frowned. He expected to hear something like this from their fleet Admiral, Sakazuki. But not from the usually calm and composed Borsalino.

'He must have been bottling those feelings deep inside him.' Fujitora thought.

"No matter. We had orders. The Elders wanted her alive. They must had a reason for it, we have no right to-"

"Then they should have come get her themselves!" Kizaru interrupted Fujitora again.

"I'm done with this conversation. What's done is done…but if it makes you feel any better, I will talk with Sakazuki myself and take full responsibility for this."

Fujitora sighed. There was no point in continuing to argue. And he was right, what was done was done.

"Huh? someone is approaching…fast." He said with a hint of urgency in his voice.

Kizaru looked ahead, at the place where the other marines were waiting along with their pirate prisoner.

"Ahhh!" The group of marines yelled as they were blown away by something.

"Who goes there?!" Shouted the Captain.

His answer was a lightning bolt to the chest that sent him flying.

"Wow!, this is awesome! I need a name for these moves." Sabo landed in the middle of the unconscious Marines and looked at Nami.

"Are you okay? You are Nami, right?"

The navigator seemed to be in shock, staring into the sea with tears in her eyes.

"Vivi…"

Sabo frowned after seeing her state. He found the two Admirals near the ocean but there was no trace of the person he came to find.

"What the hell happened here?"
