Chapter 282: Who are you?

"I-i….they…they deserve it!. They refuse to give up the samurai!" The head shouted.

"Lord, I don't thin-"

"I didn't ask you." As vivid said this, the first minion dropped dead with a hole in his head the size of a grape.

The rest of them became frozen with fear and kept their mouth shut.

"You said a samurai? you were looking for a samurai?!" Kinemon approached and stared at the head.

His eyes became wide with surprise when he saw Kinemon.

" A samurai!, it must be you my Lord was looking!."

The rest of the minions looked at each other. 

"We must go call for Lord Jack!, the samurai is here!"

"Hurry, let's get out of here!" Another one said. They could tell that they had no chance of winning against those opponents. The only choice was to retreat and call for their Boss.

Before they could take more than two steps, the nine men left fell down, dead.

These minions were around the level of a Marine lieutenant. Against opponents like these, Vivi could kill them with no effort. A series of well-aimed water bullets were more than enough to take care of them.

"You killed them!" Shouted the head.

Vivi lifted the head and pointed it a the city.

"Unlike them…your men deserved it."

She then threw the head to Franky.

"Hold on to that guy."

"Are you going to leave him live? I was sure that…" Usopp started.

"Death is too much of a kindness for that one…leave it to the Mink tribe to decide his fate. I'm sure they can think of something to do with him..." Vivi said.

"Noo!, let me go, please!" the head begged. He was truly terrified now. 

"This is our fault… " Kinemon collapsed to his knees.

"Kaidou came here looking for us…"

"Dont blame yourself…those monsters…" Nami didn't know what to say. 

"We can still save them. Luffy, come on!" Chopper shouted.

"On it!, just one more!...gomu gomu no…CLAP!"

The remaining fumes rose into the air and we're carried away by the winds.

Chopper did not waste time rushing toward the wounded.

The law was right behind him.

"Let's go help him. I can assist in identifying the survivors." Said vivi.

"I can do that much too." Added Nami.

"Me too, I'll help!" Said Usopp.

"Well carry the wounded to Chopper and Law, let's go," Zoro exclaimed.

While she was trying to look for more survivors, Vivi felt a faint aura approaching them. The owner was clearly trying to conceal themselves but weren't very proficient at it.

The ambusher jumped from one of the nearby trees and aimed her blade at the closest target, which just so happened to be Nami.

"Are you allies of Jack?!" The humanoid female dog screamed with rage before trying to slash Nami with her sword.

Vivi was fairly sure that Nami had detected the attack coming and could defend herself, but she could not just stand there and do nothing while the person he cared about the most was being attacked.

She manifested a thin shield of ice by using the surrounding moisture in the air.

Even without activating her awakening, she could exert some influence over the water in her immediate surroundings.

Nami raised her staff to block the attack only to see it being stopped by a translucent shield made of ice.

"Nami!" Usopp readied his slingshot to help.

"I'm fine." Nami hurried to say. "I think she is sick!."

The dog lady fell down to one knee and started to cough violently.

"She is poisoned, we need to stop her before she kills herself!." Chopper instructed.

"Careful!, She shes got a bomb in her hand," Franky shouted.

The mink pulled out a dynamite-looking device and lit it up.

"I'm going to blow you all to smithereens!"

Vivi hurried to create a small sphere of water around the bomb, defusing it and making it unusable.

"Why?!" The mink cried.

"What grudge do you hold against us!. Why are you slaughtering our people? The person you seek is not even in this country…this country is hundreds of years old, how much you must destroy to satisfy your black hearts?!" 

She stood up with tears in her eyes and prepared her blade again.

"Wanda, wait!. These individuals are not the enemy!"

The squirrel girl from before came running and approached her.

"They saved me, and also killed some of Jack's men, look." She pointed.

Wanda looked in the pointed direction and found the bodies of the men Vivi had just killed. She immediately recognized them, she had a few encounters with those during the last few days, they were ruthless human beings.

"They killed those bastards?..."

"Jack and his subordinates have retreated already, they only left a few men behind to torment us…" An injured man approached them.

"Those people cannot belong to Jacks's crew."

"Tristan!" Wanda recognized the man.

"They are also the ones who removed the poison from the city." Squire girl said.

"Come to think of it…the gas has really disappeared." Wanda realized.

"Yes, it was that one!. I saw it with my own eyes…his hands got huge!" Squire girl pointed at Luffy.

"What are you standing there for?" Shouted Chopper with a commanding tone.

"It's been 24 hours since they have been exposed to the poison. They need the antidote in the next hours or we will have no chance of saving them."

"He is right. I can take care of the superficial wounds, but we will need an antidote too…I was not able to research Caesar's poison enough while I was with them." Law lamented.

"I have an antidote already." Said Chopper.

"You do?" Nami asked.

"The one you made for Luffy, of course!. It must be the same poison." Usopp realized. Back in Punk Hazard, their Captain was injured by Caesar and almost died. Or he would have if it wasn't for Chopper's fast intervention.

The doctor nodded.

"I have to run a few tests to make sure it will work with this variant, but I should have a working antidote in a short period of time. I just need to go back to the Ship, I have my equipment there."

"I'll make sure to keep them alive until you get back." Said Law.

"You are really going to save us?" Wanda could not believe it.

"I thought we were all done for…"

"Okay people, everyone to work! There is lots to do!. Let's save this country." Ordered Nami.

"Who are you?" Asked squirrel girl.

"Shishishi, I'm Monkey D. Luffy, the next Pirate King."
