Chapter 284: Momonosuke real identity
"We have been eagerly awaiting your arrival!." Nekomamushi spoke before kneeling.
Pedro and the other mink in the room did the same.
"Lord Raizou is safe!" Neko said with a grin.
"So, he is safe…I'm glad to hear that." Kinemon had a complicated expression. For one, he was glad his friend was safe, but the cost…
They gazed at Nekomamushi and the other mink tribe members with shocked faces after hearing that statement. And the implication…
"Oi, just wait a fucking second here!" Usopp roared.
"So the samurai they had been looking for was here the whole time? and you all knew?!"
The mink smiled.
"You would all have died! A thousand years old civilization…gone." Usopp could not believe what he was hearing.
"Even if it meant our Kingdom's demise, we would never rat out one of our friends to the enemy." Nekomamushi declared with pride.
Luffy looked happy to hear this.
"Shishishi, you guys are truly a loyal bunch."

Kurau City, central plaza
Everyone who was able to move already was called to attend an event at the core of the city.
The place was filled with hundreds of mink, and with both rulers, Inugarashi and Nekomumashi standing at the center of the plaza.
In front of them were Kinemon and Momonosuke while the Strawhats were sitting in a nearby area, watching the event unfold.
"My deepest apologies to you all. Allow me to once again confirm who I am."
Kinemon removed the upper part of his kimono, revealing a crest on his back.
The mink around the plaza started to talk among themselves.
"That crest!"
"The samurai!"
"It really is it!"
"Just like Lord Raizou, this man…"
"Bears the crest of the Kouzuki family."
"But I have to say, I'm truly pleased to see you two are still alive." Kinemon turned to look at the two Kings.
"Death will not take us that easily. We knew if we kept those words from that day in mind and waited…" Igarashi started.
"Yes!, we knew our paths would cross again," Nekomamushi interrupted him.
"Oi!, don't cut in when I'm trying to talk with Kinemon!, you damn catnip junkie!." The giant dog looked at Neko with a deep frown.
"What did you call me?!, you disgusting flee bag!. Talking to you will give him cramps, spare him that fate!." The giant cat started to shout.
"Please stop," Momonosuke exclaimed, but his voice was not heard.
The two rulers continued to yell at each other. The ones present knew it was only a matter of time before they started to get truly violent and then, they would have to intervene before they ended up killing each other like it has happened many times before.
"Oh...this again."
"Look, they are about to start!"
Right when Inugarashi was about to unsheath his sword, someone shouted at them.
"Inugarashi, Nekomamushi!, stop this bickering. You two were such good friends, why are you at each other's throats now? I shan't allow you to squabble any longer. Even more so, if the reason for your quarrel is the father. If he saw you two behaving in such a manner. Father would be deeply saddened."
Momo's words seemed to finally reach them and two of them stopped.
"My Lord…"
"Lord Momonosuke."
They knelt before him, regret reflected on their faces.
"Momo?" Nami looked confused.
"What does he mean by 'father'?...he is standing right there." Usopp pointed.
"What do they mean by Lord?" Asked Franky.
"We are deeply sorry for our poor actions in your presence, Lord Momonosuke."
"Forgive us, My Lord."
Both Inugarashi and Nekomumashi prostrated themselves before the boy.
This took everyone watching by surprise as they didn't know the identity of this boy, but for their rulers to behave in such a way…they could very well speculate.
"For the Masters to address him with such respect…."
"Coutl that boy be…"
"He is indeed Lord Momonosuke in every sense of the word." Said Kinemon while looking towards the confused Strawhats.
"Please, forgive us for deceiving you all this time. In truth, Lord Momonosuke and I are not father and son."
"Ehhh!" The Strawhats exclaimed.
"I'm shocked…" Vivi wanted to roll her eyes.
"The person you see here is actually the heir of the great Daimyo of Kuri, of the Wano Kingdom….Lord Oden Kouzuki."
"The heir of the Kouzuki clan?"
"He is the son of Lord Oden?!"
"Forgive us for not recognizing you!"
The various members of the mink tribe started to talk.
"So, Momo is some big shot or something?" Asked Zoro.
"I believe he would be something akin to a Prince." Said Robin.
"At any rate, for all of us, including Neko and Inu, he is our Lord and Master. However, if his identity were to be discovered during our travels, our enemies would have increased exponentially. This, we pretended to be father and son." Explained Kinemon.
"So you aren't dad and kid?" Asked Luffy.
"They sure look alive thought." Commented Brook.
"Sorry for lying. I am actually the son of a Daimyo." Said Momo.
"I don't know about your dad, but you are definitely a deviant." Said Vivi.
"I said a Daimyo!." Shouted the kid.
"Well…whatever." Luffy shrugged.
