Chapter 17
They entered, and he said to her, "I'm sorry about that."
She approached him and said, "You mention me as your fiancee."
He said, "Alayna, the truth is, I'm in love with you.
"From the first day, I saw you.
"I was unsure about those feelings.
"I didn't want someone who would love me just because of my richness.
"I wanted someone who could understand me.
"I put you through so many tests, and you proved to me that you're the only reason I would ever want to be in love.
"If there's anyone I want to be with, it's you."
Alayna said to him, "Dominique, I don't understand."
He said to her, "You're a mysterious and wonderful person.
"I just know that I can trust you with everything."
She hugged him and said, "I feel the same way about you, but I was scared that you didn't."
He smiled, brushed her hair aside, and said, "You don't have to be scared anymore.
"I'm all yours."
She kissed him.
Their moment was cut short by a knock at the door.
It was Carrie.
Dominique said to her as she entered, "You don't need to work here anymore.
"I'm firing you."
She responded, "What? Dominique, I-"
"Enough of the bullshit, Carie.
"You can start to pack your things," He said to her.
She gave him a disgusted look before leaving the office.
He said to her, "Let's go for a walk."
As they exited the office, she smiled and held his hand.
They made their way to his car after going to the exit.
She asked, "Where are we going?"
He said, "Anywhere you like."
She said, "Let's visit the beach and have some ice cream.
"I'm craving it."
He smiled and said, "Beach and Ice cream is it."
He started the car as soon as they got inside.
On their way to the beach, she asked, " Where are your parents?
"I never heard you talk much about them."
He said, "They're on a business trip in Dubai, and they should be back by tomorrow."
She said, "That is nice.
"The entire family is occupied, haha."
He smiled and said, "Yeah, welcome to the family."
They exited the vehicle and went to an ice cream parlor when they got there.
She said, "I want vanilla and strawberry with chocolate syrup."
He smiled and placed her order.
The woman selling the ice cream asked, "Are you two dating?"
Dominique responded, "Yes, we have started today."
The woman said, "You are quite handsome, and she's beautiful.
"You two are the best couple I've seen for the day."
Alayna laughed.
The woman said to Dominique, "Now, you cherish her, okay?
"If you're not going to be serious, don't waste her time.
"You both are adults, and no relationship is perfect.
"I hope you guys sit and work things out."
Dominique responded, "Thank you, ma'am.
"I will cherish her.
"She is amazing, and I want to spend the rest of my life with her."
As she handed Alayna her ice cream, the woman smiled.
Alayna said, "Thank you.
"Have a nice day!"
They stood beside each other and gazed at the waves.
She ate her ice cream.
He said, "I can't believe I'm finally in love with someone.
"I had so many doubts that ill never find the one for me.
"I guess I was wrong about that."
She said to him, "I'm so happy that I can finally have a family with someone who isn't going to hurt me like I was hurt before.
"I guess we're fated."
He said to her, "If that's the case, then I'm about to have more faith, darling."
She kissed him, placing her hands around his neck as she tipped toed.
He looked her in the eyes and said, "Thank you for understanding me.
"I promise you.
"I'll never hurt you.
"I'll always be by your side."
They face each other and chuckled.
He looked at her and said, "Alayna, I love you."
She responded, "I love you too, handsome."
The couples on the beach turned to look at them while they kept kissing.
He held her, and she rested her head on his chest.
She eventually decided they should return home after spending some time strolling along the shore.
They climbed into the car and headed back home.
Dominique decided to carry the girls to collect their belongings when they arrived.
Alayna returns to the car after going inside to get them.
Kathy saw a difference between them as Dominique drove off.
She asked, "Why are you two smiling at each other?
"Shouldn't you be at your work?"
He said, "I decided to take your sister on a little date at the beach."
Kathy responded, "No way!
"You guys are dating!?"
Alayna laughed and said, "Yep, we are."
Darla added, "Yayy does that mean Alayna gets a wedding?
"I want to be the flower girl!"
Kathy said, "I think our Little sister has been reading the wrong books these days."
They all laughed on their way to Alayna's house.
When they arrived, the girls went inside to grab some stuff.
Dominique requested Simon to drive one of their vehicles so the girls could relocate everything.
Alayna heard her name while she waited.
She whirled around to see her girlfriends.
"Alayna! Oh my God!
"Where have you been?
"We missed you!" said Lisa.
They hugged her as she responded, "I miss you, girls, too!
"What's new?"
Mina said, "We should be asking you that."
She said, "Well, a lot happened."
She looked around and asked, "Where's Delicia?"
Amy responded, "She is out of town for a while."
Dominique approached her and stood beside her.
Lisa said, "Don't tell me you're dating!"
Alayna responded, "Unfortunately, we are."
The girls squealed in excitement as she whispered to them.
"And guess what, you gals will become aunts."
When the girls learned she was dating the hot guy and expecting a kid, they were excited and surprised.
Alayna said, "We should get together and talk about the group.
"The only person I believe will be your finest leader is Delicia.
The girls said, "Yeah!"
She smiled and said, "I'll keep in contact with you girls."
Dominique mentioned, "Babe, you're friends are welcome anytime."
She said to them, "Then, I guess Saturday would be nice!"
They agreed and hugged her.
She said, "I'll send the location to Lisa."
The girls nodded as they decided to assist her in carrying items to the vehicle.
It was time to go after loading up.
She hugged the girls and said, "See you guys soon!"
She got in the car and drove off,
They waved at her.
