Chapter 88 The City Of Warriors Part 24

Looking at Hajime's face, Yul could feel Hajime's pain, taste Hajime's tears, and understand Hajime's thoughts. He is still hesitating whether to die with Hajime or to leave and let the wooden spear kill Hajime. After all, Hajime will be back to life in a day or so. Just when he was hesitating to make a final decision, his lower abdomen was suddenly burned, and powerful energy circulated in his lower abdomen.

Yul turned his gaze to the left, and he saw the young woman standing a few feet away from him with a sword in her hand. She smiles and kneels in front of Yul.

"Please help him," Yul pleads.

"Do you want to save him?" the young woman asked.

"Yes," Yul replied.

"Why?" asked the young woman.

" Because he's very important to me," Yul said.

"If you want to save him." She held out her hand holding the sword. "Take it and protect him."

Yul reaches for his sword.

Abrafo swung his sword twice towards the vine wall. "How the hell are we going to break through it?" He hit the vine wall again. "Yul! Hajime!"

Michio said, "This is a magic wall, and the only way to do it is to defeat the master behind the spell."

Lixin said, "Burn it."

Michio took out a paper amulet from his robe. He bit his finger, quickly wrote on the talisman, and then threw the talisman onto the vine wall. The wall of vines began to burn. Suddenly, the crystal coffin began to shake violently.

Lixin looked back and found that his soldiers were all pressing the crystal coffin down to the ground.

Lixin asked, "What's wrong?"

Chen shouted, "My lord, it seems to want to move towards the direction of the flame!" He pressed the coffin to the ground with all his strength.

Abrafo said, "Could it be that the witch is calling him over?"

Lixin rushed towards the crystal coffin and shouted, "Don't let it slip away."

Suddenly, the long sword inside the coffin broke through the edge of the coffin and flew directly into the burning wall of vines.

Yul grabbed the hilt of the sword, pulled himself away from Hajime, grabbed the grip with both hands, jumped forward, and flew straight to Lan Huan.

Lan Huan looks at Yul, she can't believe that her beloved king's sword is held by another person. "How did you draw His Highness's sword?" She was taken aback.

Lan Huan flew back and blocked the sword with her hands, but the power of the sword pushed Lan Huan further away from Yul and Hajime.

The black stone in Yul's robe flew out and floated beside Yul. Yul pointed his sword at Lan Huan, and the burning wall of fire behind Yul suddenly turned into ice. What rushed out of the ice was Bailong. Bailong roared loudly at Lan Huan.

Bailong said angrily, "How dare you make trouble again? I gave you a chance to redeem your sins, but it seems my kindness was in vain."

The moment Lan Huan saw Bailong, her fighting spirit collapsed. She knew that she had no ability to compete with the strongest gatekeeper of the Southern Sea. The moment she attacked Bailong, the pure heavenly scales of Bailong would reflect her attack back at her. After all, he was the one who gave her a second chance to live. Lan Huan stretched out her hands and shouted, " Give me back the sword, you can't take that sword away..."

"Hajime," Michio rushed forward.

"You psycho," Abrafo said, running to Hajime. He quickly pulled out the wooden spear from Hajime's Back. He helps Hajime to sit up. "Are you alright?" He looked at the wound on Hajime's back. "Shit, this thing is so big, it may take a while to heal."

Hajime snorted in pain, "Usually it doesn't hurt at all, but I don't know why it hurts a lot recently. Ahhhh... don't move my arm... I think it's broken."

Lan Huan looked past Bailong and saw the crystal coffin. She stretched out her left hand, and a vine suddenly appeared, wrapping the coffin. She started to pull the crystal coffin towards her, but Bailong stepped on the vines, preventing Lan Huan from continuing to pull.

Lan Huan pleaded, "Please... I just want to keep my promise. Please let us go."

An angry breath came out of Bailong's nostrils, "You ruined your chance."

Bailong's dragon sword hovered over Lan Huan's body, and the dragon sword turned into a white energy rope, wrapping Lan Huan around.

"One of you, go and kiss her." He said, looking at the young men standing beside him.

Everyone was taken aback by Bailong's strange request. "Why?" Abrafo asked.

Bailong said, "She can't hurt me, but she can hurt you. My magic rope can only bind her for a while, if you want to defeat her, this is the only way, so go and kiss her."

Abrafo said, " I would never kiss a woman I don't like, and I wouldn't take responsibility for her."

Lixin said, "I'm a royal, and I will not associate with evil."

Hajime said, " Uh...uh...she just tried to kill me..."

Everyone looks at Yul because they know that Michio is a monk, so it is impossible for Michio to kiss Lan Huan.

Yul said, "I'm a married man..."

Hajime said, "I don't mind."

Michio said, " I'll do it."

The men looked at Michio in shock. "Can you, do it?" Everyone said in unison.

Michio walked up to Lan Huan, who was still trying to pull the crystal coffin towards her. Michio sat down in front of Lan Huan and said, "You know, without your strength, it is useless. The rope under the gatekeeper's feet will not move if he does not loosen it."

Lan Huan said, "I promised, and I must fulfill it." She continued to pull. "I swear to heaven and to Her Highness that I will do everything in my power to keep him safe and alive."

The seven soldiers looked into the coffin, but the handsome young man could no longer be seen, only a skeleton remained.

Bailong looked at Lan Huan frantically, and said, "Wherever you go, destruction follows. There is no difference between today or a thousand years ago." He looked at Michio. "Kiss her."

Michio asked, "What will happen if I kiss her?"

Bailong shouted madly, "Just do it!"

Michio said, "I refuse." He looked at Lan Huan. "I still believe that the best way to suppress evil is through the individual's willingness to let go."

Lan Huan looked at Michio and Bailong angrily. "Just because you are stronger than me, doesn't mean you are my master. You will never be my master." She gritted her teeth. "I will never surrender to anyone again."

Michio looked at Lan Huan and listened to Lan Huan's expressions, feeling a little sad for some reason. He said, "We all experience suffering. There are times in our lives when we wish we could change the ending of the story. Sometimes we lose what we care about, we are separated from those we love, our bodies fail us as we get older, we feel helpless and hurt, our lives just seem to be fading away with time, but what has been done can't be undo and we must go on living till the flame of our candle's lifespan burn out. No matter how hard the past might have brought you, you can always begin again."

Lan Huan asked, "I just wanted to protect the one I love, what crime did I commit?" She felt that her energy was slowly draining from her body. "Tell me! What crime have I committed?"

Michio said, "I'm not Buddha, I can't judge the severity of your sins, but I can tell you that if I stand in front of the scale of truth, I will not be afraid of weighting myself against the heavenly feather of sins."

Lan Huan looked at the middle-aged monk, and a picture suddenly flashed in her mind. She saw herself standing on top of a hill overlooking a city engulfed in flames. The cries of people echoed in her ears. When she looked down at her feet, she found that there were corpses of old and young on the ground, and no matter which step she took, her feet were stepping on someone's relatives.

In front of Lan Huan stood a young man in his thirties, wearing full red armor and holding a red spear. The man turned around and smiled at Lan Huan. He pointed the red spear at Lan Huan and sneered. "Kneel before your master," he said wickedly. As the image slowly disappeared, Lan Huan burst into tears.

Yul stepped forward to Lan Huan, took off the golden medallion around his neck, and handed it to Lan Huan. "I don't know if that means anything to you," he said.

Lan Huan took the golden medallion from Yul and burst into tears. Holding the golden medallion in her hands, she sobbed heavily.

Yul sighed and said, "She said 'the promise has been fulfilled, it's time to let go'."

Lan Huan looked at Michio and said with tears streaming down his face, "But the past is too painful to let go, and the reality is so cruel that I can't face it alone."

Michio said, "Although the past may have been cruel, today is your first step to face reality." He smiled at Lan Huan. "But you won't face them alone...I will face them with you." Michio reached out to untie the rope that was wrapped around Lan Huan.

Lixin shouted, "What are you doing?"

Abrafo caught Lixin. "You... what are you going to do?"

Lixin said, "I'm going to stop that monk. If he releases that witch, all our achievements so far will be in vain."

Abrafo said, "As long as I am still standing, I will not let you interfere with Michio's way of suppressing this witch."

Lixin said madly, "His suppression method is wrong."

Hajime turned to look at Abrafo and Lixin. He endured the pain and said, "Michio's way of suppressing wrongdoing beings is the most rightfully way."

Yul said, "Suppressing a powerful soul can only be done if the soul voluntarily surrenders, unless there is a trace of hatred left, as time goes by, when that trace of hatred accumulates enough life energy, it can turn itself into another dark soul and harm innocent people."

Michio put the rope by his side and looked at Lan Huan with a smile. "Hello, my lady, I'm Michio of Tangzang Kingdom, what's your name?"

Lan Huan looked up at Michio, tears streaming down her cheeks. She smiled and said, "This untouchable slave is named Lan Huan."
