“What do you mean?” Christopher clasped her arm. “Stop talking nonsense and eat the medicine,” he hissed, placing a tablet in her palm.

Under his fiery gaze, Abigail cowered.

"Do you find it difficult to meet my demand for a baby? It has been two years, Christopher." 

He didn’t answer her question. All he did was stare at her, acting mute.

“Why do I feel like you don’t care about my feelings?” Abigail asked. “Don’t you love me?”

His silence was the clear answer.

"Everyone in the house was already tense. Did you have to add more tension to it? What did you get out of saying those things?" Austin raged at his wife as soon as they came into the bedroom.

"Satisfaction," Pamela replied instantly. "I get the satisfaction that you can't give me. You can listen to them quietly, but I can't."

She straightened her backbone and curled her lips slyly. "Gloria is always proud of her son. This time, he really brought shame to the family. It's worth it to see her shamed pale face. On the contrary, look at our son… He has never done anything to disappoint us."

"It's only a rumor. You don't know for certain." Austin defended Christopher.

"There is no smoke without fire," Pamela countered. "Who would spread such words? Didn't they worry about losing their jobs? I don't believe it's just a rumor."
