“What do you mean?” Christopher clasped her arm. “Stop talking nonsense and eat the medicine,” he hissed, placing a tablet in her palm.

Under his fiery gaze, Abigail cowered.

"Do you find it difficult to meet my demand for a baby? It has been two years, Christopher." 

He didn’t answer her question. All he did was stare at her, acting mute.

“Why do I feel like you don’t care about my feelings?” Abigail asked. “Don’t you love me?”

His silence was the clear answer.

As the day wore on, the absence of any news regarding Lance weighed heavily on Abigail's heart, intensifying her anxiety. When Michael approached her, delivering the disheartening update that he was unable to reach Lance, a knot formed in her stomach.

"I don't know where he has gone," Michael confessed, his voice tinged with worry. "He has just disappeared."

Abigail's concern deepened, and her mind raced with unsettling thoughts. She couldn't shake the notion that her father's enemies might have orchestrated Lance's sudden disappearance.

Worriedly, she voiced her fears to Michael, urging him to inform her father of the situation.

"Maybe the enemy has hurt him. You should inform Papa," she pleaded, her features tinged with desperation.

Michael's expression turned somber as he contemplated the situation. After a moment of deep thought, he responded skeptically, "I don't think it is the enemy's doing."
