“What do you mean?” Christopher clasped her arm. “Stop talking nonsense and eat the medicine,” he hissed, placing a tablet in her palm.

Under his fiery gaze, Abigail cowered.

"Do you find it difficult to meet my demand for a baby? It has been two years, Christopher." 

He didn’t answer her question. All he did was stare at her, acting mute.

“Why do I feel like you don’t care about my feelings?” Abigail asked. “Don’t you love me?”

His silence was the clear answer.

Christopher sighed softly and wrapped his arms around her, his fingers tracing soothing circles on her back. "We will sugar, we will. But the doctor said you need to stay here for now. Your health and the baby's well-being are the most important things right now."

"I don't want to stay here for a minute," Abigail stated adamantly.

Christopher understood her fear. But he couldn't agree to her request as he needed to make sure about her and the baby's safety.

"Your blood pressure is high," he explained. "In this condition, you should avoid a long journey. It is almost eight hours drive from here. Did you forget how sick you were the day we arrived here? You should follow the doctor's advice."

"But Anastasia will be with me," Abigail argued, her voice tinged with a stubborn determination.
