Under his fiery gaze, Abigail cowered.

"Do you find it difficult to meet my demand for a baby? It has been two years, Christopher." 

He didn’t answer her question. All he did was stare at her, acting mute.

“Why do I feel like you don’t care about my feelings?” Abigail asked. “Don’t you love me?”

His silence was the clear answer.

Abigail's eyes widened in disbelief, and her heart filled with disdain. "How could you even think about it?" she retorted, her voice laced with incredulity. "I'm already married."

Lance's response was chillingly casual. "That's not a problem at all," he declared, his intentions clear. "You can divorce him. Don't worry about the baby in your womb. I'm willing to give my name to your child."

Abigail's disgust morphed into pure rage as she listened to Lance's twisted proposal, her eyes blazing with fury. She could never tolerate such nonsense. As she was about to respond, Jasper's booming voice cut her off. Her eyes flashed with indignation.

"Don't listen to him, Abi. He's trying to manipulate you. Don't pay attention to him."

Abigail looked at him, and their gazes locked, filled with shared concern and apprehension. Their silent communication conveyed more than words ever could, reinforcing the unspoken connection that bound them together.
