Jasper’s kindness

Britney nodded again, feeling a sense of relief wash over her. Jasper lifted her in his arms and took her into her room.

She was pleased to see him caring for her and coiled her arms around his neck, admiring him. Jasper ignored her steady gaze on him and walked into the room, gently putting her on the bed.

"I'll send someone to bring you some food," Jasper said, turning to leave.

"Stay with me for a while," Britney urged, holding his wrist. "I don't want to be alone right now."

Jasper studied her face for a moment before nodding. "Okay," he said, his voice gruff. "I'll stay for a bit."

And with that, he sat down next to her on the bed, his presence filling the room. For a few moments, they simply sat together in silence, neither speaking nor moving. But for Britney, it was enough. Having him near her made her feel safe like everything was going to be alright.
