You heard him...

The next day Kira overslept a little. She was awoken by the sunlight filtering through the curtains and the sound of footsteps in the room.

"Drey why did you let me sleep so late," Kira grumbled borrowing her head deeper into the covers.

"Milady, it's me, Rose," a feminine voice spoke up.

Kira sat up immediately. "What are you doing in here, Rose?"

"It's past noon milady," Rose replied neatly folding the covers that were draped on the side of the bed.

"Oh no!"

Kira rushed to the bathroom letting out a scream. The seamstress must have been waiting for hours now, having been invited by Kira herself to come early. Now she was running late.

Trina had been reminding her of the need to purchase though she will do good with what she had. The gown was for Lord of Niva's inauguration party, which was just a few days away. As she walked back wrapped in a towel she realized that she had forgotten to wash her hair. To Rose's, surprised lady Kira walk out of the bathroom within a few minutes.

"Is there anything I can assist you with, milady?" Rose inquired, observing Kira's difficulty with her surrounding.

"Yes, actually," Kira said turning to face Rose. "Could you help me with everything?"

"Of course, milady," Rose replied promptly and headed to the closet to search for an appropriate outfit and shoes for Kira.

Rose discreetly averted her gaze as Lady Kira swiftly changed into nude.

"I apologize, milady, where are rushing to? I thought you might not be feeling well, which is why I came to wake you up," Rose asked in a concerned tone.

"Seamstress was supposed to be here early in the morning. Have you seen her?" Kira picked up a pair of red flat shoes and put them on to match her blue dress.

"Yes, milady, I saw her in the tea room with Lady Trina," Rose replied she turned to face Lady Kira but was surprised to see her already turning the doorknob. "Milady you cannot leave the room with your hair in that state."

Lady Kira continued down the stairs without stopping, causing Rose to quickly follow her with a comb in her hand. Despite being more flexible than her Lady, Rose couldn't catch up with her, Kira descended the stairs with haste.

The maids couldn't help but stare at the young lady's disheveled hair as she walked into the tea room. She hadn't noticed her maid, Rose call out to her and follow closely until she entered the room.

As Kira entered the room, she saw Trina and the seamstress seated on the couch, Trina holding a green fabric. Kira respectfully bowed and apologize for keeping them waiting.

"Please don't apologize, milady. I'm just a servant of the castle, here to serve you." The seamstress walked over and respectfully bowed three times.

Kira was momentarily stunned when she met the seamstress. But she quickly regains her composure.

"I'm Nila, milady," the seamstress introduced herself.

"And I'm Kira, it's nice to meet you, Miss Nila," Kira responded.

But Trina interrupted "She's not a "miss" Kira. She's Mrs.Young." Trina then approached Kira and gave her a cheek-to-cheek hug.

Kira's eyes widen in surprise and her mouth fell open. She looked back and forth between the two women in front of her. "Don't tell me..." She exclaimed.

"You are right in your thinking, milady," Nila said with a smile. "My husband is Alexander Young."

"Ah, I know Alex," Kira responded looking at Nila. "He's the King's trusted advisor and also one of his loyal knights. You are tall for a woman and your brown skin is quite beautiful and unique."

"Please don't flatter me, milady. You are not lacking either," Nila said as she gently took hold of Kira's hand and led her to the couch. "May I borrow this?" Nila requested, reaching for the comb from Rose, who obligingly handed it over before departing the tea room.

Despite her beautiful appearance Kira has gained more weight compared to the average woman her age. Which made her appear shorter compared to the tall woman. Nila brushed Kira's hair despite her reluctance and braided it into two separate braids. "Your hair is just like that of my little niece," Nila said admiringly.

"Your niece seems quite attractive," Trina said admiring the green fabric she held in her hands. She appeared pleased with its weight.

"My niece is not only attractive but also has a mischievous streak," Nila replied with a smile, fondly remembering her playful niece.

"Would like to meet her," Kira eagerly suggested already charmed by Nila's description of the young girl. She also misses the little girl Lia from the mountains.

"Of course, I'll check with her mother," Nila replied moving back and sitting between the two ladies. Kira wore a smile on hearing that, while Trina frowned but quickly nodded in agreement before they could notice it.

"I like this fabric, Kira. We can coordinate our outfits, if you could like," Trina suggests holding up the same green fabric she held a while ago.

"Trina, that is your favorite color, and wouldn't want to upstage you by wearing the same outfits," Kira said politely declining the suggestion.

Noticing this little behavior between the two

Nila the other garments and place them on the table. She then began to present each one to Kira, and explain which one would be appropriate for the event.

"I was hoping for something light and simple," Kira said as she looked up at the jewelry displayed on the table. "I don't want to feel weighed down by my outfit before even the celebrations start."

Drey walked in and picked out a piece made of maroon material. "This one will suit you, milady," he said. "It's a great color and will match perfectly with the event we'll be attending."

At such events, the wives of lords would be displaying regal colors.

"Greetings, King Drey of Rivea," the ladies stood with a bow.

"Good afternoon, ladies," Drey replied indicating for them to be seated without having to bow themselves. Chard followed behind Drey carrying a box, and he also bowed to the ladies. Before standing behind the King quietly.

"What do you think of this color, Chard?" King Drey asked.

Chard was taken aback. 'Why is he involving me after taking away Kira's favorite colors?' he wondered.

"Yes, Your Highness," Richard responded regaining his composure. "It will match nicely...."

"Lady Kira, you heard him," Drey interjected, preventing Chard from revealing any secrets.

The ladies both gave them a suspicious look. Drey simply shrugged and placed the heavy fabric on Kira's lap. The material felt good to the touch and the colors it was exactly to her liking, he did have a taste. She gave him a small smile of gratitude.

Kira gave a nod to Nila, causing the seamstress to smile. 'It seems the King's favorite Lady is easy to please," Nila thought to herself. In the past, Nila had created dresses for the wives of the Lord and found the process quite challenging. However, her hard work was noticed by the head maid of the castle.

Drey strode towards the door with a satisfied grin. He glanced over his shoulder at his servant, who remained alone facing the women in front of the ladies. He squinted and saw the servant who wore a dejected expression.
