Chapter 19

I cleared the table and picked my phone before going out to meet Alex. I was completely speechless at the morning surprise. He handed me the bouquet of roses with a charming smile.

"Here, this is for you." He said and I accepted it with the feeling of butterflies in my belly. He kissed my cheek. "Good morning beautiful, I'll be taking you to work." He opened the door, ushering me in. I looked back at my dad who stared at me from the doorstep. I waved at him before entering the car.

"Did you do what I asked?" I asked Alex as he turned on the car's engine and he nodded with a flashy smile.

"Trust me, he'll love it." He said before zooming off.

Alex took me to the Estate but Oscar wasn't home. It was obvious that he had gone to work but I couldn't see any sign of it. The fleet of cars in his garage were all in order and none was missing, I'd know because I'd driven them all.
